Season 2 of Netflix's sports docuseries Quarterback continues to dominate Netflix's top 10 charts more than a week after its release. Quarterback, which is produced by Hall of Famer Peyton Manning and his Omaha Productions, currently sits at #3 on Netflix's U.S. streaming charts after Sullivan's Crossing and Squid Game.
After the success of Quarterback season 1, which gave viewers an inside look into the behind-the-scenes lives of NFL quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes, Marcus Mariota, and Kirk Cousins, Quarterback season 2 returned on July 8, 2025, featuring Joe Burrow, Jared Goff, and Cousins on his new team, the Atlanta Falcons.
Quarterback first debuted on Netflix in 2023 but did not return until 2025. Instead, Netflix's spinoff series Receiver was released in summer 2024, featuring elite wide receivers and tight ends such as Davante Adams, Amon-Ra St. Brown, George Kittle, Justin Jefferson, and Deebo Samuel.

It’s fair to say that NBA 2K26 is one of the most anticipated releases of the year. 2K Games has confirmed that the title is all set to launch on September 5, and as we all expected, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will be our cover star for the game.
We all know the most exciting part of any new NBA 2K release: guessing player ratings. Every year, we see debates blowing up over how a rookie managed to snag an 90+, and some veterans are still suck in the 80 elo. With NBA 2K26 right around the corner, it’s time to jump back into the prediction game and see which stars are likely to crack the top 10 in terms of player ratings.

Coincidences and conspiracies surround the NBA 2K titles, as fans have theorised that there exists an NBA 2K cover curse. What’s the curse, you may ask? The theory suggests that NBA players who grace the cover of the 2K games will suffer some sort of setbacks, be it injuries or an upsetting season shortly after.
Sounds unfathomably silly at first, but when you take into account all the instances, it might just be plausible. Of course, it’s a reach to believe there’s a literal curse surrounding players who are featured on the covers of the NBA 2K series.
However, there is a list of players who’ve suffered significant hitches after being featured on the cover of the popular games that’ll make you believe otherwise, and the cases are too much of a slam dunk to ignore or question.

The athlete that will be center stage on the cover of NBA 2K26 has finally been revealed. Last year's entry in the long-running basketball sports simulator franchise had an "all-star" edition of the game that featured the series' first dual-cover athletes: NBA champion Jayson Tatum and WNBA champion A'ja Wilson, both of whom also appeared on other versions of the cover independently. This year, for the standard edition cover, one of the best players in recent memory will be gracing the cover.
According to a press release, three-time NBA all-star and the 2024-2025 season Mvp, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, will be this year's cover athlete. Gilgeous-Alexander is currently the Oklahoma City Thunder point guard and recently signed a record four-year contract extension with the team for $285 million.

The 2025 NBA playoffs have been nothing short of a gift to the league’s incoming TV rights holders.
NBCUniversal and Amazon Prime Video executives must be swooning with every three-pointer that has dropped since the NBA conference semifinals began on May 5.
The games have been, for the most part, nail-biters – unpredictable, competitive matchups that appear to be sowing the seeds for a new wave of NBA superstars and team rivalries that should play out for years to come. And that is the most welcome news for NBCU, Amazon and Disney – the platforms that inked a massive $76 billion, 11-year TV rights deal with the NBA that kicks in later this year and runs through the 2035-36 frame.
Most of the league’s high-wattage, big city teams – notably the Los Angeles Lakers, Golden State Warriors, Boston Celtics, Miami Heat and Dallas Mavericks – were bounced out of the playoffs early on, or didn’t make the cut.

Tyler Hoechlin played Superman in the Arrowverse series Superman & Lois. And while he was “just” a TV Superman, Hoechling became a fan-favorite and he is now lauded as one of the best on-screen Supermen of all time.
And while the Arrowverse was a major fictional universe, it was initially crafted in such a way that there seemingly wasn’t enough space for characters like Superman or Batman. Plus, there were the copyright issues, of course.
And while Batman did not get a solo outing in the Arrowverse, Superman ultimately did and in a recent talk with Michael Rosenbaum, who played Lex Luthor in Smallville, Hoechlin revealed how the initial idea surrounding Superman was quite different.

Update: DC Studios has unveiled a short teaser in anticipation of the official trailer for James Gunn's Superman, which is set to release online this Wednesday. The brief footage shown today features David Corenswet's Superman in action, fighting someone who seems like the super-powered Hammer of Boravia. Coincidentally, it seems the villain has similar powers to the Kryptonian hero, including laser vision. Nicholas Hoult also speaks as Lex Luthor, the primary antagonist of the Dcu film.

As Disney gears up for its annual upfront presentation, global advertising president Rita Ferro told TheWrap there’s been a lot of scenario planning in response to the economic disruption created by President Trump’s tariff policy.
“There’s still a lot of uncertainty in terms of what actually will be the impact of tariffs across certain industries or categories,” Ferro said. “It’s very much business as usual right now while we plan for a future of uncertainty.”
One model under consideration from a retail-sector client involves splitting the impact of tariffs up into thirds among them, consumers and whoever sources their product, Ferro said. Another client said they would absorb the cost of the tariff for a specific period of time, while others are looking at their manufacturing to see how quickly they can ramp up or shift production to the U.S.

No proper trailer. No new poster. But yes, Jayson Tatum is apparently Superman now—at least according to a new commercial that dropped out of nowhere and left the internet scratching its head harder than Lex Luthor during Smallville‘s meteor freak disasters. With just two months to go before the release of James Gunn’s Superman, Warner Bros. marketing continues to lean in all the way into the bizarre. First, there was that odd photo of David Corenswet’s Superman uncomfortably suiting up and pulling on his red boots. Then came a long-delayed teaser trailer, followed by a Green Lantern Super Bowl spot that focused more on his questionable haircut than anything else. Not done yet, the studio hit us with a Puppy Bowl Krypto ad, an awkward spot where James Gunn and Corenswet talked with Shaq about the new suit, and a five-minute short featuring Krypto dragging a...

Another new experience arrived this week — on the eve of the NBA playoffs, no less — as Tatum teamed with Coach once again, this time to help the fashion brand launch its latest fragrance. Tatum is the face of Coach’s For Men Eau de Parfum, a scent crafted by perfumer Juliette Karagueuzoglou and described as the “house’s boldest scent yet.” The...

NBC won’t start telecasting NBA games until the fall of this year, but it’s already starting to talk about what will happen when it does.
Viewers of “Sunday Night Football” are slated to see a promo in the middle of Sunday night’s game in which actor Jack McBrayer reprises his popular “30 Rock” character Kenneth the Page while surrounded by popular NBA players Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jayson Tatum, and Victor Wembanyama. The purpose of the pitch is to tell viewers that NBA games are coming to NBC and its Peacock streaming service in the fall.
“This is a launch moment,” says Jenny Storms, NBCUniversal’s chief marketing officer for entertainment and sports, during an interview. “We will have consecutive moments that will move over the next ten months.” NBC hasn’t aired NBA games in 23 years.

The NBA has a problem. When the playoffs expanded to include a play-in game, making it so 20 of 30 teams make the postseason, the league had further de-emphasized the importance of its 82-game regular season. While the two months of NBA playoffs are some of the most dramatic must-watch TV of the year, it’s the six months of regular season live-event programming that is the league’s bread-and-butter when it comes to ticket sales and TV revenue.
Last season, in an effort to create some in-season excitement, the league created an in-season tournament, the second edition of which was rebranded the Emirates NBA Cup and tipped off last week with group play before eight teams advance to the knockout round on December 10-17. The in-season tourney is, objectively, a meaningless competition. Each game still just counts as a regular season win or loss, and winning the Cup carries no competitive advantage to the winning team.

Amid a pullback in TV spending, unscripted production companies Fulwell 73, behind Hulu reality hit “The Kardashians,” and SpringHill Co., founded by NBA superstar LeBron James and Maverick Carter, are in talks to combine forces.
The companies have been discussing a potential merger for several months, two sources confirmed to Variety. Execs at both companies see the tie-up as a merger of equals, not one party acquiring the other. The teams at SpringHill and Fulwell 73, whose partners include James Corden, are looking at what’s happening in the media and entertainment sector and believe that consolidation would create a stronger entity rather than leaving each separately, one source said. The merger talks were first reported by Bloomberg.
The two companies are different enough in their content focus that they think such a combination could help each other grow their businesses, per a source familiar with the talks. In addition, SpringHill...

Starting 5 takes basketball fans into uncharted territory, showcasing the relentless effort professional athletes put forth to compete for a championship while also prioritizing their families and mental well-being. Showrunner Peter Scalettar says that revealing the core motivations for LeBron James, Jimmy Butler, Anthony Edwards, Domontas Sabonis, and Jayson Tatum gives fans a never-before-seen perspective on the biggest players in basketball.
“Every part of it is illuminating,” Scalettar tells Tudum. “Whether it’s being in the locker room or a living room, it all feels new and fresh. The NBA has not provided this type of access before.”
Scalettar handled that access with care, ensuring his team didn’t hinder the athletes’ efforts. “We don’t want to get in the way of their main objective, so the first hurdle is finding spots where we can fit in and not be a distraction,” he says. “Being with a player on...

School is finally back in session! ABC’s Emmy-winning comedy “Abbott Elementary” returned for its fourth season this week, and even though we’re getting a full 22 episodes once more, the show thankfully didn’t wait too long to confirm the state of TV’s cutest union. In the premiere, which is now streaming on Hulu, Janine (Quinta Brunson) and Gregory’s (Tyler James Williams) relationship takes center stage, and while it’s clear the two still have some things to figure out, the change in their romantic status leads Ava (Janelle James) to call in a district Hr rep to ensure that everything is above board. Meanwhile, the construction of a nearby golf course leads to some interesting changes for the school and our favorite teachers. As charming and funny as ever, “Abbott Elementary” is the awards contender to watch this weekend.

While it deals heavily with the question of LeBron James' retirement from the NBA, given that the icon is in his 21st season, Starting 5 also offers several intriguing reveals about three young guns - Anthony Edwards, Domantas Sabonis and Jayson Tatum - and one seasoned pro, Jimmy Butler.
For each, the holy grail is the Larry O'Brien Trophy, the NBA's championship bauble, which they'll battle for over an exhausting 82-game season of exhilarating highs and excruciating lows. James has had his hands on the trophy before, but the fledgling stars are seeking out their first NBA championship and are consumed by the prospect of capturing one. Tatum, in episode 10, "Just Be Yourself," is clear about what is...
