Sky’s Will Sharpe Mozart Drama Adds Rory Kinnear, Lucy Cohu and More (Exclusive)

“The Diplomat” star Rory Kinnear has joined Will Sharpe and Paul Bettany in Joe Barton’s upcoming Sky limited series “Amadeus.”

Based on the story of famed composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Sharpe stars as the virtuoso while Bettany plays his fierce rival, Italian composer Antonio Salieri.

Kinnear, who is also known for his turns in “Skyfall” and “Men” has been cast as Emperor Joseph.

Joining them are Lucy Cohu (“Becoming Jane”) as Cecilia Weber, Jonathan Aris (“The Sixth Commandment”) as Leopold Mozart, Ényì Okoronkwo (“Renegade Nell”) as Da Ponte, Jessica Alexander (“The Little Mermaid”) as Katerina and Hugh Sachs (“Bridgerton”) as Von Strack.

Paul Bazely (“Such Brave Girls”), Rupert Vansittart (“Game of Thrones”), Anastasia Martin (“In From The Cold”), Nancy Farino (“Masters of the Air”), Olivia-Mai Barrett (“Invasion”), Viola Prettejohn (“The Crown”) and Jyuddah Jaymes (“Hijack”) round out the cast.

Amazon MGM Orders Pilot Based On ‘Charlie Bone’ Fantasy Novels: Joseph Fiennes, Carmen Ejogo, Emma Sidi, Brazilian Singer Giulia Be & Newcomer Cory McClane Star In 42 Production Underway In UK

Exclusive: Amazon MGM Studios has ordered a pilot based on the Charlie Bone children’s/YA fantasy novels.

The eight fantasy novels in the popular series were written by British author Jenny Nimmo and published between 2002-2010. The franchise also includes a prequel trilogy and two follow up books.

Filming is underway on location in the UK on the pilot, which stars Joseph Fiennes (The Handmaid’s Tale), Carmen Ejogo (The Penguin), Emma Sidi (Starstruck), Orlando Norman (Wreck), Beth Alsbury (Blindspot), Lewis Brophy (The Virtues), Brazilian singer and actress Giulia Be (Beyond The Universe), Olivia-Mai Barrett (Invasion), Fisayo Akinade (Hearstopper), and newcomer Cory McClane in the Charlie Bone role.

Currently untitled, the ensemble pilot heralds from UK-us production and management firm 42.

Asia Argento, Frances Barber, Tamer Hassan, Laura Whitmore Join ‘A Mother for an Hour’ (Exclusive)

Asia Argento (“The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things”), Frances Barber (“A Bird Flew In”), Tamer Hassan (“The Football Factory”), Laura Whitmore (“Sadhbh”) and child actor Erin Ainsworth have joined the cast of “A Mother for an Hour.”

The film, which is being directed by Giga Agladze, follows the story of a woman who poses as the lost mother of a dying child and discovers through this act a world of deceit and violence.

Agladze’s most recent movie is surrealistic drama “The Other Me” (2022), starring Jim Sturgess and Andrea Pejic, executive produced by David Lynch.

“A Mother for an Hour” is being produced by Kirsty Bell, Goldfinch CEO and co-founder of The Number 44, and Ben Charles Edwards, also a co-founder of The Number 44. The executive producers are Phil McKenzie and David Kereselidze. It is shooting in the North of England, predominantly in Newcastle, Hartlepool and surrounding areas.

A new trailer for Gerard Butler's Kandahar features the star fighting his way across an Afghan desert in an epic race to survive. Butler is best known for starring in the likes of 300 and the popular Has Fallen action trilogy, most recently appearing in Plane. Kandahar, from director Ric Roman Waugh, sees the actor take on the role of CIA operative Tom Harris, who attempts to escape Afghanistan with his interpreter after their cover is blown.

Open Road Films has now released the first trailer for Kandahar, providing a new look at Butler's next action-packed role after Plane.

The trailer sees Butler's character sabotage Iran's nuclear weapons program before his covert mission is exposed in a crippling intelligence leak.
