Vicken Joulfayan is an Armenian cinematographer and editor from Beirut, Lebanon. He is the youngest of four siblings, in a family of accomplished filmmakers. His experience and education in film began at a young age, often assisting his family in the camera department and post production on numerous projects.
His passion for filmmaking led him to pursue a Bachelors in Film and Television Production at the Lebanese University of Fine Arts. Upon graduation, he worked in the camera department on his first feature film called "The Last Inhabitant," shot in Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh.
After completing his work on the feature, Vicken worked as a freelance cinematographer and editor in the Gulf region, advertising for various high profile clients including Audi and Vodafone.
In 2016, he moved to the United States to pursue his Masters at the New York Film Academy in Film and Media Production. Since coming to the states, Vicken has worked as a cinematographer for over a dozen short films in 2017 alone.
He is fluent in Armenian, French, Arabic, and English.
