Mallrats 2 Delay Explained: Kevin Smith Gives Latest Update On Comedy Sequel
Image
Director Kevin Smith provides an update on the possibility of making Mallrats 2, a follow-up to his 90s cult classic. Written and directed by Smith, Mallrats was released in 1995 as the follow-up to his wildly successful comedy classic Clerks, and starred Jason Lee, Jeremy London, Shannen Doherty, Michael Rooker, and Claire Forlani. While the movie was not a box office success, it was popular on home video, and, like its predecessor, went on to develop a cult following.

In an interview with Deadline, Smith discusses the possibility of making Mattrats 2. The Chasing Amy director and New Jersey native previously planned to make the movie before Clerks III, even at one point announcing a 10-episode Mallrats TV show that never materialized. Speaking of his continued desire to see a Mallrats sequel, the 54-year-old discusses the challenges of getting the movie made with Universal, and his desire to make it independently. Check out Smith's comments below:

10 Fast & Furious 11 Theories That Would Beat The Rock & Gal Gadot's Fast X Returns
Image
Warning: This article contains Spoilers for Fast X.

Gal Gadot and The Rock’s returns in Fast X were surprising, but Fast & Furious 11 can be even more shocking if a few popular theories become true. Fast X, the beginning of the end of the Fast Saga, was expected to have the largest ensemble cast in the franchise yet. Not only was Fast X’s ensemble set of characters impressive, but the film also brought two major names back at the end – Gisele and Hobbs.

While Dwayne Johnson’s return to Fast & Furious had been reported before Fast X premiered, Gal Gadot’s return as Gisele in Fast X was a big reveal. Gisele was not dead after all, another example of how anything is possible in the Fast Saga. Here are 10 Fast & Furious 11 theories that would beat anything Fast X did.

Robert Downey Jr. Thoughtfully Weighs In On Superhero Movie Debate
Image
Robert Downey Jr. chimes in on the superhero movies debate. The actor kicked off the MCU in 2008 by portraying Tony Stark in Jon Favreau's Iron Man and went on to play the role for 11 years, essentially becoming the face of Marvel's franchise. That was until he ended his comic book movie stint in Avengers: Endgame, in which Stark died by sacrificing his life to defeat Thanos. More than three years since his final outing as Iron Man, Downey has been busy venturing out in his career, trying new roles and even producing projects with his wife, Susan Downey. But he will forever be associated with the MCU, hence why it's interesting to get his take on the ongoing conversation about the impact of superhero movies on the filmmaking industry.

Speaking with Deadline while promoting his documentary, Sr., Downey offers his two cents on the comic book movie debate. Instead...

‘The Great British Baking Show’ Season 10 Gets September Premiere Date and First Look Photos
Image
Make sure to preheat your ovens and don your aprons because “The Great British Baking Show” Season 10 will premiere on Netflix on Sept. 16, the streamer announced Tuesday. The delicious feel-good series will introduce 12 new bakers hoping to impress Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood.

The reality competition show, which has spanned 13 seasons overall and 10 “collections” on Netflix, will see the return of hosts Noel Fielding and Matt Lucas. For the uninitiated, each hour-long episode (of which there are 10) includes three parts: a signature challenge that requires bakers to whip up their own interpretation of a dish on the fly, a technical challenge where bakers must concoct the same surprise recipe and a showstopper challenge.

Executive Producers are Letty Kavanagh, Richard McKerrow, Kieran Smith and Jenna Mansfield. “The Great British Baking Show” is produced by Love Productions.
