Director Christine Luby is swapping out Crystal Bay Penguin Sanctuary for Dolphin Bay for her third production with the Steve Jaggi Company, currently underway in South East Queensland.

Having helmed You, Me and the Penguins earlier this year, Luby is now turning her attention to The Mystery of Dolphin Bay, which follows 15-year old Quinn Perkins, played by US actress Izabela Rose, as she spends the summer working as an intern with her best friend Daniela (Ella Proberts) and marine biologist father Charlie (Rowan Chapman).

While she enjoys researching the reef’s unnatural shift in biodiversity, Quinn notices a shift in her relationship with her long-time friend Daniela, and soon agrees to join fellow intern Teddy (Jayden McGinlay) on a treasure hunt as a distraction.

Exclusive: Diandra Lyle, who heavily recurred on Season 1 of Secrets of Sulphur Springs, has been promoted to series regular for the second season of Disney Channel’s time-travel mystery-adventure series. Production on season two will begin next month in Louisiana.

Lyle, who appeared last year in ten of the drama’s first 11 episodes, returns as Jess Dunn, the dedicated, hardworking widow and loving, single mother of Harper (Kyliegh Curran) and Topher (Bryant Tardy). Her younger self is played by Izabela Rose (Upside-Down Magic).

Secrets of Sulphur Springs centers around 12-year-old Griffin Campbell (Preston Oliver), whose family has just uprooted their lives to take ownership of an abandoned hotel in hopes of restoring it back to a lively vacation destination. Kyliegh Curran can’t spill all the beans about what Friday’s Secrets of Sulphur Springs Season 1 finale (Disney Channel, 8/7c) has in store for fans because she does co-star on a show with secretiveness in the title.

But Curran is willing to give fans a taste in advance of the season closer. “Oh, I am so excited for the finale,” she tells TVLine. “So we saw Harper, Savannah and Griffin together last episode. Well, we’re going to see more from Harper, Savannah and Griffin in the finale, and it’s going to be intense. I’m super excited.

Nickelodeon and Disney Channel are doing their part to help kids during the Covid-19 crisis.

Nickelodeon will air #KidsTogether: The Nickelodeon Town Hall, an hour-long special offering a kids-eye view of life during the coronavirus pandemic. It will premiere Monday, March 30 at 7 Pm Et/Pt.
