Tnm StaffPTIKollywood star Kamal Haasan was admitted to Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre (Srmc) in Chennai on Wednesday, November 23. Sources from Srmc Porur confirmed to Tnm that the 68-year-old actor was admitted for a routine check-up on Wednesday, after he had symptoms of fever. According to a press statement issued by Srmc on Thursday, the Makkal Needhi Maiam chief was admitted to the hospital with mild fever, cough and cold. “He is recovering well and will be discharged in a day or two,” the statement said. On the work front, Kamal Haasan is currently shooting for his upcoming movie Indian 2, the sequel of the hit 1996 movie Indian starring the actor in the lead and directed by Shankar. The film has been in the production stage for over two years due to unprecedented delays.

CourtLyca Productions had earlier sought to restrain Shankar from directing other films until 'Indian 2' is completed.Tnm StaffThe makers of actor-politician Kamal Haasan’s upcoming movie Indian 2 have been facing a slew of problems over production since the film was announced. Recently, Lyca Productions, which is bankrolling the film, had submitted a petition with Madras High Court on April 1, requesting a ban on director Shankar from working on other projects before completing this one, citing a delay. While adjourning the case to April 28, the Madras High Court has directed both parties to amicably resolve the issue among themselves. Shankar has signed up for two new films in recent times. He will be teaming up with Tollywood actor Ram Charan for a pan-Indian project and will also be helming the Bollywood remake of the 2005 Tamil movie Anniyan. Actor Ranveer Singh will be reprising actor Vikram’s role from the original.

On Tuesday, the makers released the first look teaser of the film. Traffic Ramaswamy, a public interest litigator was instrumental in demolishing illegally constructed buildings in Chennai, having the government impose restrictions on motorised fish carts, the de-congestion of major bus routes by banning auto-rickshaws on them etc. He has been targeted by many in the past. He is the man who is known for filing a maximum number of cases regarding several issues at the Madras High Court. Initially, it was speculated, the director wanted Vijay for a special cameo, but Sa Chandrasekar approached Vijay Antony for the role. In an interview to Toi, Sa Chandrasekar told, "When producer Bhaskar approached me with an idea of making a film on him, he wanted me to act in it and also direct it. He felt that I resembled Traffic Ramaswamy in certain angles, even though I'm younger to him. But I told that I have decided to refrain from direction because of my age, but will act in it." The biopic will see actress Rohini as Sa Chandrasekar's wife and Prakash Raj will be seen as a police commissioner. Kushboo, Seeman, S Ve Shekhar will also be seen in special cameos in the film. After a long hiatus, actress Ambika makes her comeback with this movie playing the role of a judge with hilarious shades. Others in the cast includes Livingston, Imman Anaachi, Ammu Ramachandran, Charles Vinod, Chetan, Baby Sherin, Mohan Ram, Madan Bob and few more prominent actors.
