This Seemingly Unimportant Episode of Smallville Fixes a Mistake From the Original Comics

Smallville goes back to the beginning of Superman's legacy, depicting a young Clark Kent and life before he became the legendary hero. Despite not having a full-fledged superhero, creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar found ways to include plenty of iconic characters from the comics. The series approaches these characters from different angles, diving deep into the questions about what shapes them into the familiar archetypes readers know and love.

In season seven, Smallville introduced Kara Zor-El—Clark's cousin from Krypton, aka Supergirl. Audiences have become more familiar with the character since she had her own show on The CW. Before that, Smallville introduced the strongest and most independent version of Supergirl in 2007, when Laura Vandervoort joined the cast, fixing an old mistake from the original comics.
