The show introduced us to the sharp-witted teenage private investigator and her unforgettable ensemble of friends, enemies, and family members in the fictional California town that became our second home.

Created by Rob Thomas and starring the incomparable Kristen Bell, this cult classic ran for three incredible seasons from 2004 to 2007, then surprised everyone with a fan-funded feature film in 2014 and a fourth season on Hulu in 2019.

Deadline reports that Greg Kinnear, Shay Rudolph, and Aidy Bryant have been tapped to star in leading roles in Holes, which was written by Alina Mankin with Liz Phang acting as the showrunner. Seven others have also joined the cast of Holes, including Flor Delis Alicea (Love the Skin You’re In), Anire Kim Amoda (The Penguin), Noah Cottrell (The Spiderwick Chronicles), Iesha Daniels (Zora and the Zebra), Sophie Dieterlen, Alexandra Doke, and Maeve Press. The show will follow Haley (Rudolph), a teenage girl sent to a detention camp where The Warden (Kinnear) forces the campers to dig holes for an unknown reason.

Disney+ has set the main cast for the pilot of the “Holes” TV series adaptation, Variety has learned.

The project, which Variety exclusively reported on in January, will star: Greg Kinnear, Aidy Bryant, Shay Rudolph, Flor Delis Alicea (“Love the Skin You’re In”), Anire Kim Amoda, Noah Cottrell, Iesha Daniels and Sophie Dieterlen in their television debuts, Alexandra Doke, and Maeve Press.

Unlike the book “Holes,” the show will feature a female protagonist and mostly female characters, whereas the book followed teenager Stanley Yelnats as he is sent to a juvenile detention camp for boys in Texas.

The official logline for the show states, “In this reimagining of the beloved 1998 book from Louis Sachar, a teenage girl (Rudolph) is sent to a detention camp where the ruthless Warden (Kinnear) forces the campers to dig holes for a mysterious purpose.”

After a harrowing video detailed the effects of the wildfires on the L.A. community, the “Die With a Smile” singers performed a stripped down rendition of The Mamas & the Papas’ 1965 track.

“I love you California,” Gaga said at the end of the performance, which prompted the crowd to erupt in a standing ovation. Grammys host Trevor Noah commended their tribute, reminding “to donate what you can” to MusiCares fire relief, an effort created by the Recording Academy to aid those affected by the wildfires.

Earlier in the night, Billie Eilish and Finneas hit the stage to perform their Grammy-nominated track “Birds of a Feather” with a set inspired by the mountains of California.

Hosted for the fifth year by Trevor Noah, the 2025 Grammy Awards will take place on Feb. 2 and serve a dual purposes this year.

“The upcoming Grammy Awards won’t just be about celebrating and honoring the best in music this year, it will also show how the power of music can help rebuild, uplift and support those in need,” explains Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. “We are thrilled that so many artists in our community are banding together at this time to show support for their fellow music makers and others impacted by the recent wildfires.”

Zachery Ty Bryan has been arrested and charged with second-degree domestic violence in South Carolina.

Myrtle Beach Police Department arrested the Home Improvement alum on Thursday and he was held at J. Reuben Long Detention Center in Horry County before being released Friday night on $10,000 bond, according to inmate records. He will next appear in court on March 28.

The actor’s latest arrest comes after he was sentenced to three years probation and a batterer intervention program in 2021 after pleading guilty to assaulting his girlfriend in October 2020.

He was arrested for another instance of domestic violence in July 2023 after he was reported by someone who previously had been granted a restraining order.

Bryan was last arrested in October on his second felony DUI charge, following another DUI back in February 2024. With three or more priors on his record, he could face up to three years in prison if convicted.
