It has been long since Lee Min-Ho returned to the screen. But when he did with When The Stars Gossip, his fans created a lot of hype around the drama ahead of the release. Does this mean the actor is leading towards a career slump?

Let’s scroll ahead and discover what happened to the popular actor who was once considered one of South Korea’s A-listers. K-Pop In ‘Xo, Kitty’ Season 2 And Their Significance
Image
One of the many reasons Xo, Kitty is all the rage is because K-culture fans get to live their Korean fantasies through Kitty Song Covey’s story. This includes, but isn’t limited to, being surrounded by beautiful Korean people, experiencing the culture, and living your life to a K-pop soundtrack. You know I needed something to get into the topic of today’s discussion! Anyway, while a lot of the music on the show is quite random, some of it is very strategically placed specifically with context to the show. Of course, that one Enhypen song is the most obvious choice for this season, almost like it was specifically written to shine in this moment. But, leaving that aside, I thought this would be a great opportunity to inspect something that doesn’t need inspecting and try to put reason to something that’s perfectly wholesome by itself, just because I can.

‘Xo, Kitty’ Season 2 Recap (Episodes 1-8): What Happens To Stella?
Image
Xo, Kitty season 2 is just as eventful as the first season. Kitty gets a chance to return to Kiss despite all her previous mistakes thanks to Yuri. Yuri, her big crush, the (current) love of her life. Season 1 left us off with a massive cliffhanger where Min-Ho, Kitty’s ex, Dae’s best friend, told her he was in love with her on the flight back home. While that time it seemed super romantic and all that, it ended up being not so lovely after all because Kitty immediately rejects him, and Min-Ho goes back to business class to ruminate on his first-ever rejection. Will Kitty end up with somebody this time around? Will she be able to get over Yuri, or will she end up ruining everything as usual? Let’s find out in this recap of Xo, Kitty season 2.

Spoiler Alert

Who Is Simon?

The main question Kitty...

‘Xo Kitty’ Season 3 Theories: Will Dae And Eunice End Up Together?
Image
Xo Kitty is a teen rom-com that takes most K-drama fans’ daydreams and turns them into reality. It is essentially a fantasy show at this point, but I won’t dig deep into that. The second season of the series is fun and exciting and introduces some new key elements, including a villain who basically helps Kitty realize who she really has feelings for by the end of the season. [Spoiler Alert] The season 2 finale leaves us with a massive cliffhanger, or rather, the expectations of Kitty’s “one true pairing,” if you will. While the first season focused on Kitty’s sexual awakening, the second season was more about her trying to experience new things because of this awakening. But seeing as she is a creature of habit like most of us, Kitty gets stuck in yet another love triangle. But at the end of the season, she emerges as a...

‘Xo Kitty’ Season 2 Netflix Review: Is It Actually Better Than Season 1?
Image
Despite my obsession with K-dramas and K-culture as a whole, I was never truly interested in Netflix’s To All The Boys I Loved Before spin-off series, Xo Kitty. Already I didn’t quite like those movies, because at the time it felt like teen media had just completely stagnated. But, to my surprise, even with all of its cringe, I did quite enjoy Xo Kitty, even more than the movies it came from and more than most of the lovey-dovey teen stuff out there right now. I think what made the show so compelling was how self-aware it was, and of course, it’s the parasocial relationship with the cast that pushes these shows to become super successful and then be forgotten when a new show comes our way.

What made Xo Kitty work was how it essentially made every non-Korean K-drama fan’s fantasy come to life in...

‘Xo Kitty’ Season 2 Ending Explained & Finale Recap: Does Kitty End Up With Yuri?
Image
Xo Kitty season 2’s ending isn’t what any of us expected it to be. The finale of Xo Kitty season 1 left us just as confused and excited as Kitty was when she learned she was bi. However, the really shocking thing about the season finale was Min-Ho admitting he was in love with Kitty out of the blue. Season 2 leads us to believe that, unlike what many of us assumed, Min-Ho and Kitty aren’t endgame, but are they? The season 2 finale gives us a lot of new things to be excited about. In this season we have new love interests not only for Kitty, but for loads of characters on the show. I think the show is super enjoyable for exactly what it’s set out to be, and Kitty’s really grown as a person, though I can’t see why Hollywood has been pushing these obnoxious...

K-Dramas Likes ‘My Demon’ To Watch
Image
The K-drama world has been taken by the storm that is Netflix’s My Demon. The show is the perfect blend of old-school fantasy tropes and modern K-drama trends, making it exactly right for both old fans and new ones. Many called 2023 the year of K-drama redemption thanks to shows like My Demon, which are loved by all. I suppose it is true in some ways because many who had stopped watching Korean dramas started watching them again because of a sense of nostalgia and fun that the new shows brought with them. Netflix has in many ways hijacked the industry, and for the most part, they have a specific type of K-dramas that work on the platform; however, in 2023, we’ve seen them bring in more and more shows in the Netflix original category that venture into the typical K-drama atmosphere. My Demon is reminiscent of the old fantasy...

Xo, Kitty Season 1 Review: Netflix’s YA Rom-Com Defies Expectations
Image
In this age of constant reboots and franchise extensions, it can be easy to feel cynical when another spinoff is announced. Sometimes, however, a project will come along that is so vibrant, fun, and creative, any prior misgivings will melt away entirely. Such is the case with Netflix's new series Xo, Kitty, an offshoot of the successful To All the Boys I've Loved Before franchise. Created by To All the Boys author Jenny Han, the new show brings Lara Jean Covey's matchmaking sister into the spotlight for her own adventure. On the surface, Xo, Kitty appears to be a straightforward tale of rom-com sweetness, but in reality, it's packed with enough twists to surpass any expectations.

Kitty Song Covey (Anna Cathcart) met a boy during a family vacation to Korea in To All the Boys: Always & Forever. Since then, Kitty and Dae (Min-yeong Choi) have kept up a steady long-distance relationship,...
