If you’re not a fan of watching the men of the Grey family take emotional and physical beatings, you likely spent most of this week’s Outlander averting your eyes.
Both Lord John and William (yes, I know, not technically a Grey, but c’mon) spend the hour in a tormented state: William a victim of the knowledge that his entire life has kinda been a lie, Lord John a victim of Jamie’s fists. You all know I love me some James Alexander Malcolm MacKenzie Fraser, but both his actions and his words in Episode 12 are straight-up ugly.

Sing me a song of a lad that is gone. Say, could that lad be James Alexander Malcolm Mackenzie Fraser?
That’s how things look by the end of this week’s Outlander, during which Claire receives word that Jamie’s ship has gone down while crossing the Atlantic. There are no survivors.

When both Claire Fraser and Lord John Gray look like their worlds are ending, it can only mean one thing: Something very bad has befallen James Alexander Malcolm Mackenzie Fraser.
And that’s the case about halfway through Outlander’s official Season 7 Part 2 trailer, which Starz released Thursday in conjunction with the show’s New York Comic Con panel.

Swing by any creator industry gathering this year, and there seems to be one thing that’s on everyone’s mind: generative AI. Some creators dig it, some hate it, and most, regardless of digging or hating, are concerned about their content being scraped for Llm training without their consent. And that’s a valid fear: OpenAI, Apple, Nvidia, and more have all been accused of using YouTube videos to train their models.
So how can a company make AI-powered tools aimed to assist creators while, at the same time, reassuring those creators their content won’t be stolen?
That’s what AsqMe is setting out to do. Co-founded by former Adobe colleagues James Alexander and Paul Shustak in 2023, AsqMe partners with content creators to help them answer questions from their audiences across platforms.

Based on their responses online, the Hollywood writers impacted by the WGA strike are happy with their deal – a lot happier than the last time around.
This new three-year contract between the Writers Guild of America and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers includes significant gains for the guild, including substantial raises, minimum staffing requirements, a 26% increase to residuals and guaranteed protections on A.I.
Throughout the strike, social media, X in particular, has been a reliable way for writers to share their stories and saltiest hot-takes. But after the WGA accepted the AMPTP’s deal, that refrain of complaints has turned into one of celebration – contrasted with the end of the 2007-2008 strike, which brought its share of grumbling.
The 2023 deal has been called “tremendous,” “exquisite” and “incredible.” “The writers low-key kicked the AMPTP’s collective ass,” Paul McCallion, a New York-based writer and actor, wrote.

James Alexander Malcolm MacKenzie Fraser very rarely makes a mistake. It’s charming. It’s enviable. And it’s the reason why — when he realizes in this week’s Outlander that he’s accidentally done something objectively horrible from any angle — it’s so captivating to watch him try to reconcile his behavior.
He sputters. He tosses furniture. His face turns a shade of crimson I had no idea Sam Heughan could will himself to reach (and that’s even considering last episode’s Serious Reddening during the father-daughter meeting). Jamie’s extreme discomfiture,...

Just in time for the holidays, this week’s Outlander gifts us with the reunion we’ve all been waiting for: Brianna’s much-heralded first meeting with her father, Jamie. And what a gingery good job the Starz series does in handling the tentpole moment with tenderness and grace, aye?
Thanks in large part to Sam Heughan and Sophie Skelton’s skill, the seminal moment from Drums of Autumn feels just as fraught and affecting as it does in Diana Gabaldon’s book. James Alexander...
