Sahana is an award-winning producer whose body of work in international production and creative development spans two decades and senior leadership roles at studios, networks and OTTs. She has helmed international productions with channels like Star Plus and SAB TV (India), STS and TNT (Russia), Keshet and Reshet (Israel), OSN (Middle East) and the BBC (UK). Her work across 26 markets and 21 languages has seen her lead the creative on features and series from multiple vantage points including those of OTT/network commissioner, distributor, executive producer, studio executive and writer.
Sahana most recently headed Originals at Viu, overseeing strategy, commissioning and production for Indonesia and Malaysia. She was the executive producer on critically and commercially acclaimed Asian adaptations of Pretty Little Liars and The Bridge (Season 2). Pretty Little Liars, a young adult mystery drama produced in partnership with Warner Bros., swept regional awards for 'Best Adaptation' at the Asian Academy Creative Awards (AACA), Asian Television Awards (ATA), and ContentAsia Awards. The Bridge, a crime drama produced in association with EndemolShine, HBO Asia and Double Vision, remains one of the biggest shows to come out of Southeast Asia and captured national wins at the Asian Academy Creative Awards in the categories of 'Best Drama Series', 'Best Adaptation Of An Existing Format', and 'Best Original Screenplay', among others. Sahana has also worked on Assalamualaikum Calon Imam, a popular Indonesian romantic drama, in partnership with SCTV, and Keluarga Baha Don, a quirky Malaysian comedy that took 3 regional 'Best Comedy' nods between 2019 and 2021 at the AACAs and ATAs.
Sahana previously headed content development and scripted for South Asian territories for Discovery after completing a decade-long stint in scripted series for the international production arm of Sony Pictures Television. At Sony, she worked on the TEFI Award-winning comedy The Voronins, a Russian adaptation of Everybody Loves Raymond, which (after 10+ years on the air) holds the Guinness Record for longest-running adapted sitcom in the world. Her latest projects include a multi-cam sitcom in Eastern Europe for Warner Bros Discovery and an espionage thriller for Blue Engine Studios in the Middle East.
Sahana holds 4 degrees from 3 continents across the fields of Media Studies, Film and Television, Global Media and Global Communication - including master's from the London School of Economics and the University of Southern California.
