David Glasser, a veteran producer once known as the “third Weinstein brother,” has had a vibrant post-Weinstein career, with his 101 Studios churning out “Yellowstone” and various spinoffs.

But Glasser has not entirely escaped financial turmoil.

Bob Yari, the producer of “Crash” who has long worked with Glasser, sued him on Tuesday for nearly $1 million — the balance of an unpaid personal debt.

After Variety inquired about it on Tuesday night, Glasser paid off the debt on Wednesday.

“The matter has been resolved,” said Yari’s lawyer, Behzad Nahai, on Wednesday afternoon. “The full balance has been wired.”

Things got off to a jaw-dropping start on The Challenge: Vets and New Threats‘ premiere, with a shocking elimination that no one in the cast saw coming. The episode began with the 16 pairs of competitors engaging in the first Season 41 challenge, called “Mud Ball Madness.” In it, the teammates were strapped together and challenged to go into a mud pit and retrieve balls that’d been dropped from a helicopter, with various point denominations indicated by color. With a U.K. alliance quickly forming — Olivia Kaiser led her boyfriend Theo Campbell and other Brits in that crew, it seemed — the American veterans were desperate to eke out a win. Indeed, new flirtmance partners Johnny “Bananas” Devenanzio and Dee Valladares managed to walk away victorious. This gave Bananas even more power in the house than he already had just by reputation; he could choose one other team to protect from elimination consideration.

Was there another $1 million winner on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? Ken Jennings and Matt Damon left off episode one at the $500,000 question on the game show. The pair’s episode continued on July 30, where they tried to win the $1 million. They only had two questions left to try and win it all. Hulu has released a trailer for The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox, starring Grace Van Patten (Tell Me Lies) as the accused killer, premiering Wednesday, Aug. 20 with the first two episodes. In the trailer — which you can watch below — Amanda’s parents sneak her back into Italy as she narrates, “Why would I return to a country where I was convicted of murder? Shannon Sharpe, the former NFL star who took a hiatus as a commentator on ESPN’s “First Take” after he was accused of sexual assault by an ex-girlfriend, is not returning to the sports cabler, Variety has confirmed. The decision by ESPN comes after he settled the lawsuit earlier this month.

FCC Chairman Brendan Carr informed Comcast on Tuesday that he has launched an investigation into the company’s relations with its NBC affiliates, days after President Trump called for the network to be held “accountable” for favoring the Democratic Party and threatened to revoke broadcast licenses.

The first glimpse at the new Sean Reagan in Blue Bloods spinoff Boston Blue has arrived. A video was shared on X/Twitter on July 29 showing Donnie Wahlberg filming on an open set in Toronto, new costar Mika Amonsen by his side as they ran down the busy “Boston” street. Amonsen takes over for Andrew Terraciano in Boston Blue, officially premiering October 17 on CBS in Blue Bloods‘ old time slot (10/9c). His casting was announced on July 9. Terraciano and his real-life brother, Tony Terraciano, played Danny Reagan’s (Wahlberg) sons, Jack and Andrew, on Blue Bloods for the duration of the series. It’s not yet known if Jack Reagan will appear in the spinoff or if the role will be recast like Sean. Robert Carlyle will play Sherlock Holmes in “Watson” Season 2 at CBS, Variety has learned.

Carlyle will play the legendary detective in a recurring guest star role opposite Morris Chestnut, who plays the titular Dr. John Watson. Other cast members for Season 2 include Eve Harlow, Peter Mark Kendall, Ritchie Coster, Inga Schlingmann, and Rochelle Aytes. Randall Park previously appeared in the series as Holmes and Watson’s arch-nemesis, Professor James Moriarty.
