Mickey Mouse Birthday — Mickey's Greatest Short Films

urbanemovies
Mickey Mouse first appeared publicly in the short film "Steamboat Willie" on November 18, 1928, the date fans "officially" recognize as Mickey Mouse’s Birthday. Interestingly, this was Mickey's third short film appearance, but the first to be released to theaters. It also was the first animation ever to be synchronized to music and sound effects. On May 14, 1928, Mickey appeared in a test screening of his first cartoon short, "Plane Crazy", which failed to impress audiences and attract distributors. Walt Disney then produced a second Mickey short called "The Gallopin' Gaucho", which also suffered from a lack of distributor interest. Mickey's third short was a hit with audiences and over the next hundred years, Mickey would go on to appear in over one hundred sixty-five theatrical shorts, cementing his popularity as one of the most popular cartoon characters ever created.

Which of these selected Mickey Mouse theatrical short films* is the greatest one of all time? * Mickey top billing, 750+ IMDb votes, 6.50+ IMDb-rated
