Entertainment Weekly's Top 50 Cult Movies

The term 'cult movie' was first used in the 1970s to describe the culture that surrounded underground films and midnight movies. These movies have aquired cult followings for their camp value (an aesthetic style and sensibility that regards something as appealing because of its bad taste and ironic value).
