Despite probably being better known as a writer and comedian on British television, he has played two small but pivotal roles in major movie franchises - he appears as the train engineer whose actions allow Ethan Hunt to emerge victorious in the final act of the original Missão: Impossível (1996), and he plays the scientist who fails to prevent the release of the rage virus that precipitates the collapse of civilization at the beginning of Extermínio (2002).
