Antoine Vivas Denisov

Of Venezuelan and Russian descent, Antoine Vivas Denisov spent his youth between Caracas and Moscow. His early interest in photography led Antoine to pursue a degree in Cinematography from the Polish National Film School in Lodz while also obtaining a degree in Film History and Theory from the University of Lodz. His work as a cinematographer began with several short films, including Evi Karampatsou's "Nuestra Señora de los Perros" which was awarded the National Prize of Greece and Best Short Balkan Film in 2000, as well as Best Young Director at the 2001 Cinema Joven Valencia Festival in Spain. During this time, he also worked on the Cuban docudrama "El Porvenir de una Illusion"directed by Franco de Peña, which received several film festival awards in Mannheim, Sao Paolo, Greece and Norway. Antoine's first feature film "Amor en Concreto" which he co-wrote with Franco de Peña and Tomasz Kempski, was the 2003 winner of El Colon de Plata for Best Original Screenplay at the Festival of Latin American Cinema in Huelva, Spain. Since 2000, after Antoine moved to New York, he has shot several feature movies in the U.S. including "Road" by award-winning director Leslie McCleave, "Four Corners of Suburbia" by Elizabeth Puccini, "Ghost Dance" by Allen Blumberg, "Choking Man" by Steven Barron and "The Dog Wedding" by James Lefkowitz. In addition to working in the US, Antoine also completed several projects in Russia. As of 2006, he filmed "Kuka" and "By the Sea" by director Yaroslav Chevazhevski, "High Security Vacation" by Igor Zaytsev, "Gift with Character" by Karen Oganesyan and one of the most important Russian works of the decade, the classic modern epic, "Home" by Oleg Pogodin. In his latter career, he has also worked on various TV series in the US and Russia. In 2012 he shot 16 episodes of "Sherlock Holmes" by Andrei Kavun, in 2015 he worked on part of the TV epic, "Sofia" by Slava Ross, and in 2016 he filmed the ironic detective TV series, "Operetta" also directed by Slava Ross. From 2016-2017, he worked on two seasons of the TV shows "Master of None" and "Crashing" in New York. The latest feature movie Antoine shot, which will be released on February 22 of 2018, is a comedy featuring "Quartet I" called "What Men Talk About, Part 3" directed by Flyza Farhshtatova.
