Son of Manuel Eduardo de Almeida Lima Quintela (b. 6 January 1946), patrilineal great-grandson of the 1st Viscount of the Charruada Nobleman of Coat of Arms of Pereira (crest) and Rebelo with crown of Viscount (in turn son of the 1st Count of Farrobo Nobleman of Coat of Arms of Pereira (crest) and Rebelo with crown of Count and 2nd Baron of Quintela Nobleman of Coat of Arms of Pereira (crest) and Rebelo with crown of Baron), Architect, and wife Maria da Graça Metelo de Faria de Carvalho (b. Lisbon, 4 January 1949), a Licenciate in Economical and Financial Sciences and businesswoman, who worked at the Ministry of Finance. Has an older brother, Manuel de Carvalho Quintela (b. 11 November 1973), and a younger sister, Sofia de Carvalho Quintela (b. 6 May 1980).
