Manfred Lopez Grem is a Mexican-American writer and director. In 2005, he co-founded a non-profit foundation in partnership with the state government of Michoacan, Mexico, with the goal of fostering the region's emerging film industry. Under his leadership, the foundation produced over 200 works, including one season of a television program. The foundation also created Mexico's first national acting talent streaming platform, which expanded to become the largest in Latin America.
In 2018, due to threats from a cartel, the foundation was forced to shut down, prompting Lopez Grem to flee the country. He relocated to the United States, where he shifted his focus to screenwriting full-time. Since then, he has joined the WGA and secured multiple writing deals, including a seven-figure contract with Condé Nast Entertainment. Lopez Grem is also a Black List Lab fellow, serves as a WGA Captain, and is a mentor and Program Advisor for the Writers Guild Initiative.
