She was diagnosed with breast cancer after she was pregnant and opted to forgo chemotherapy so that she might carry her pregnancy to term. Gave birth to her only child, a daughter Asha McGee on June 7, 2001, with her now widowed husband Barry McGee and died 3 weeks later on June 26th from complications from breast cancer at the age of 33.
