David's uncle is well-known Palestinian artist and art historian Kamal Boullata.
David's maternal great-great Uncle was William H. Seward who served as United States Secretary of State from 1861 to 1869 to President Abraham Lincoln, and earlier served as governor of New York and as a United States senator.
