Renée Tab is a seasoned executive in the entertainment industry with over three decades of experience as a producer and manager to filmmakers. Tab founded Sentient Entertainment in 2010 and has focused on elevating diverse voices and narratives in both film and television, producing projects that resonate with a global audience.
Renée's career began in the mailroom of APA, where her passion for the industry quickly led to her role as a Motion Picture Literary agent at International Creative Management. During her time there, she worked closely with renowned filmmakers such as Danny Boyle, Guillermo Del Toro, Baz Luhrmann, and Darren Aronofsky. She played an important role in packaging the successful action film Taken, starring Liam Neeson, which went on to become a global franchise. Renée was also instrumental in securing Terrence Howard an Oscar nomination for his performance in Hustle & Flow.
In addition to her work with ICM, Renée teamed up with David Cronenberg on several of his projects, including packaging A History of Violence, Eastern Promises, and A Dangerous Method. She later produced Maps to the Stars and Cosmopolis and was behind the idea to reimagine Dead Ringers with Rachel Weisz as the lead, creating a fresh take on the original film by focusing on high society, fertility, and finance in New York.
Renée's commitment to great storytelling has extended to producing films such as Sound of Freedom, Peppermint, Canary Black, and Freelance, all of which have found success with audiences. Her most recent project, Alphas, is a high-seas action drama starring Martin Henderson.
In television, Renée executive produced the critically acclaimed limited series Feud: Bette and Joan for Ryan Murphy, which earned numerous Emmy and Golden Globe nominations. She also developed and executive produced Dead Ringers, starring Rachel Weisz, which received multiple award nominations for its performances.
Renée is currently working on a remake of The Others, set up at Universal, and the production of Last Meals, based on the Nicholls Fellowship-winning screenplay by Justin Piasecki.
In addition to her work in entertainment, Renée serves on the board of The Warrior of Light Foundation, partnering with The City of Hope to raise funds for cancer research.
A graduate of Pepperdine University, Renée is proud of her roots as a Los Angeles native and Iranian American.
