Ghazaleh Soltani is an Iranian filmmaker known for her socially conscious storytelling and deeply personal narratives. With a background in textile design, she later pursued film production at Vancouver Film School and earned a Master's in Cinema from Tehran University of Art.
She began her filmmaking career with the documentary "...and the Blue Sky" (2009), a tribute to legendary Iranian actor Ezzatollah Entezami. Her short film "Futile Garden" received international recognition at the Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival, and her 2016 feature, *Wander About Me*, won Best Film at the New York Women Film Festival, establishing her as a bold voice in independent cinema.
Soltani's work often explores themes of identity, resilience, and the complex realities of Iranian women. Her upcoming feature, "Parva", continues this focus, delving into societal pressures and personal defiance in contemporary Tehran.
