Being from the CW I expected to only watch half of it before changing the channel. Happily surprised I watched the whole episode and enjoyed it. Not so happy that it's a reboot...can't anyone come up with an original story anymore? That aside the show is well cast and acted (though a 28 year old Homicide Detective is a tough pill to swallow, technically possible, but extremely unlikely). The first episode has some serious twists, usually the type of stuff that would develop over an entire season. Hopefully they didn't put everything into the first episode and nothing into the rest of the season. It will be interesting to see if they can continue this caliber of a performance. Here's hoping.
Second episode kept pace, though not quite as dramatic, but within expectations.

Wow what a great series, I love it.
The first episode was so exciting. I've watched the whole season in 2 days. I think everybody is way too negative about this. Even after the plot twists i wanted to watch the rest of the episodes. This is one of the best series I've seen. A combination of tension, humor and love.
I really hope for a season 2, it is my favourite series!

I am a huge fan of the movie, so thought about giving this show a shot. I felt the way they tried to mix things up was interesting, but a lot of things really hold this show back. First of all, it's the cast. The Riley Smith who plays Frank Sullivan doesn't seem a good fit in my opinion. And no, I'm not comparing him to Dennis Quaid. Mainly I found it very hard to sympathize with him. The entire time he acted like a junky. And every time he spoke he seemed like he lacked confidence. He did not at all feel convincing to me that he was in law enforcement. That fact alone made it kind of hard for me to feel immersed into the show.
Peyton List playing Raimy Sullivan might be the strongest part of the show, but in a way that might actually be a bad thing because whenever she has scenes with Lenny Jacobson who plays Gordo, it really just exaggerates just how terrible of an actor Lenny Jacobson is. I don't intend to be mean, maybe it's not his fault, but it's pretty painful every time he has any screen time.
And if half of the main duo being completely not convincing wasn't bad enough, I found that the writing seems to be all over the place. Sometimes I find some of the things they do or some of the ways they tried to change up the original story kind of clever (not meaning better than the original, not in the slightest, but clever in that they found a way to deliver the scene without looking like an exact copy of the source), while other times, like in the dialog between the mother and father in the second episode, it seems very contrived.
Now I admit I've only watched the first three episodes, I intend to at least finish the first season, but it seems to be getting worse with each episode rather than better, but I'll still give it a chance. If it improves in the later episodes I will definitely come back to revise this review. But as of right now, I am finding this series very mediocre. And that's not comparing it to the movie, which was excellent. If I compared the two, this would simply be terrible in comparison.

Solid performances and edge of your seat suspense.
Really pleased to discover they're going to work the different layers of the time-lines. Doing that, they can blow this series wide open.
The photography is great and the music fits nicely. They stuck with the main characters for the first episode, instead of watering it down by spending more time with the secondary players.
This may end up being one of the best "about time" stories I've ever seen. I really, really enjoyed the first episode and I'm so looking forward to more.
I can't recommend this highly enough.

I hate the fact that this show was not renewed for a 3rd season. This seems to happen to me a lot over the years, that a show that I like is canceled, similar to Fringe...my favorite TV show ever. I guess that I must have strange tastes, but I liked the concept, and I thought that it was well casted as well as written. Just another bummer for me!
