Exit: The Appeal of Suicide

Ray Comfort and his Living Waters team made this horrible film on depression and suicide, As someone who struggles with depression this was personal to me. Ray Comfort is not a man who should be making videos like this. He does not have compassion. He just has his religious views. He does his usual interviews and his usual insane junk.

I have talked to Ray online before. I made a post about LGBT people committing suicide. This was Rats response.

Me: Not a thing wrong with being homosexual. Its a natural sexuality. So many gay people have committed suicide from hearing anti gay propaganda. I feel for them.

Ray: "Not a thing wrong with being an adulterer. So many people have committed suicide from hearing anti adultery propaganda. I feel for them. Better read your Bible Nick."

Me: First of all that has nothing to do with being gay. Second Im trying to say I feel for suicide victims, and you are making fun of that?

Yes. Ray made fun of my anti suicide post. Ray Comfort is a horrible man and should not be taken seriously.

This is an alarmist piece designed to scare people into becoming Christian.

None of the information presented is done so in a safe way. It breaks every evidence-based recommendation about how to discuss suicide safely in the media, and uses statistics to push its own agendas.

If you want to scare parents and young people into becoming Christian, have no morals, don't care whether you cause further suicides, this is the movie for you.

Anyone showing this film to another person (I can imagine deluded congregations thinking it would be great to show to large groups), is making a decision to try to increase suicide numbers in their community.

The only group I can imagine doing a worse job in making a movie about suicide would be Westboro Baptist. And only because they wouldn't hide their intent to kill people. This movie is pure evil, wrapped up in sheep's clothing.

Keep away.

Don't listen to the other reviews that are clearly written by anti-God extremists!!!

Make up your own mind.

I was severely depressed due to having an incurable physically debilitating illness, and had made a serious attempt at suicide that left me in the hospital.

I used to be a bitter atheist filled with hate but thanks to the message in this film, even though my life is extremely difficult and I still struggle with depression, I have an objective reason and purpose to live and God gives me strength.

This film is in no way saying not to seek medical attention and that God will fix all your problems, but shows that God will help you endure those problems with a positive outlook.

It is not perfect and I didn't agree with how every single thing was framed.

But the core message of the film, the gospel is amazing and if you believe it will transform your life for the better.
