Wolf jokingly asks Snake if he can hear colors and see sounds. In fact, snakes have an excellent sense of smell and they actually can "smell" the air. They have no sense of hearing, however, but they are able to detect vibrations, including vibrations caused by sound. When Snake is "listening" to the safe to crack it, this is accurate as he is actually "feeling" the vibrations caused by the safe mechanisms.
The film's opening diner scene is the longest one-shot in DreamWorks Animation history, lasting two minutes, 25 seconds and seven frames.
The filmmakers cite Homem-Aranha: No Aranhaverso (2018) as an influence, wanting to try a stylish animated film. Other influences on the film are the anime shows "Lupin III", Beastars - O Lobo Bom (2019) and Detetive Holmes (1984); the crime films Fogo Contra Fogo (1995), Onze Homens e um Segredo (2001), Cães de Aluguel (1992) and Pulp Fiction: Tempo de Violência (1994); the Belgian animated film Ernest e Célestine (2012); the sci-fi film O Quinto Elemento (1997), and the work of artists Hergé, Jean 'Moebius' Giraud, André Franquin, Albert Uderzo and Akira Toriyama.
