Unwilling Lovers

Zebedy Colt really ought to have named his film "The Candy Bar Killer", instead. "Unwilling Lovers" is a good title, but it sounds too poetic and pseudo-intellectual for something that is basically just a no-budget 70's porn movie. Besides, the title isn't even that accurate. The 'lovers' are either dead (oh yes, there's necrophilia!) or … willing. The Candy Bar Killer would have been better because it captures the silly and grotesque atmosphere of the film much more. Anyways, I concur with my fellow reviewers around here in claiming that "Unwilling Lovers" is a rare 70's gem with some pretty twisted and sick-spirited story lines as well as an overload of graphic XXX-action. Writer/director Zebedy Colt granted himself the leading role, and he isn't too ashamed to show off his manliness, as the mentally handicapped redneck son Timmy. Considering his mental condition, I can't help being reminded of the demented South Park character with the same name, you know the boy who can't do anything except shout out his own name. Timmy lives in an isolated countryside mansion with his wheelchair bound mother, an exaggeratedly well-hung gardener and a housekeeper who's a bit of a S.L.U.T. Timmy spends a lot of time observing people having sex and then re-enacting what he saw, only his interpretation of foreplay is to murder them first. Although not realizing it, he always leaves a wrapping of his favorite candy bar next to his victims' corpses, and the police and media quickly nickname him the Candy Bar Killer. The first couple of killings are an exciting murder of sex and violence, but the film rapidly just focuses on depicting hardcore pornography. By the time of the third murder, we just witness a couple having sex followed by Timmy storming at them with a sneering smile on his face and the picture then immediately cuts to a newspaper headline announcing "Another Candy Bar Killing". There's few gore or bloodshed on display, presumably due to the lack of budget, but the tone of the film is often disturbing and sick. The idea of sexually provoking a mentally unstable person and luring into a threesome is rather perverted and socially incorrect, but at the same time it's one of the most efficient sequences in the film. The acting performances are surprisingly decent and convincing, especially Colt's depiction of the eerie retard. The adult content is stimulating as long as you remain aware of the fact this is a 70's effort, meaning the men & women are excessively haired and rather chubby. Hard to find, but worth tracing if you're interested in this sort of crazy stuff. Timmaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!

"Unwilling Lovers" is 1977 nasty porno roughie which stars Zebedy Colt as a semi-retarded man who still lives as a child in his backwoods home.His view of sex is distorted by memories of his mom and dad having sex then falling off a cliff,so he tries to emulate their sick sex acts with any girl he sees.He violently kills five women and rapes them post-mortem.This sordid little sickie offers a lot of hard core sex and perversity.It's a mean porno with rather repulsive necrophilia scenes.Zebedy Colt,who played later in equally unsettling "Sex Wish" is a hauntingly believable as a sicko with the penchant for necrophilia.Overall,"Unwilling Lovers" is a must-see.It mixes stimulating sex scenes with nauseating violence,but relies on a storyline,good performances and a bizarre surprise ending.It also features three American porno icons(Terri Hall,C.J.Laing and Annie Sprinkle),so you can't go wrong with this sickie.8 out of 10.

This is directed by Zebedy Colt. People who aren't familiar with that name doesn't know what that means. He was famous for making "roughies", seventies porn flicks with a sausage of horror. But don't think that you will see a lot of blood, the main thing is still the porn. Most of Zebedy's flicks are hard to find, okay, Sex Wish is now available on DVD but this roughie is extremely hard to get hold on. It's about a retard killer having sex with death corpses, yes, necrophilia. Up to these days Zebedy is still to racy for America. He died in 2004 age 74. But this film has some famous actors from the nude scene in it. First of all we have Rod Dumont. He only made 4 flicks but was known in the genre by the girls for his testicles. He deliberately stretched them and they hung by 5 and a half inch and it shows here in this flick, there's a scene were a girl tea-bags him. But the main lead, Jody Maxwell almost lost her life while filming. There's a chase scene were she's running over some rocks above a waterfall in the Delaware river. She slips and almost fell death in the river but just could get hold on a rock. It also shows in the movie, you see her clothes being torn apart due the fall. For being Jody she's tame here because in another flick, The Devil Inside Her, she had double penetration and another one in her brownie at the same time, and didn't have a butt-double like so many had. Still it's all about bad acting and editing. Even the camera-work looks like amateurism. But still it contains a lot of cumming and sucking, some lesbian affairs and some close-ups of butt-f***ing. Up to today's standards it isn't sexy at all because the men are hairy and the pussies are full bush , even some butts contain hair. Funny to hear them say, flowers instead of tits and beehives to be licked for pussy-licking. But it's a classic in the genre and as I said extremely hard (no pun intended) to get hold on on an official VHS copy.

My favourite roughie so far, Unwilling Lovers is quite a grotesque treat. Zebedy Colt plays Timmy a ten year old in an adult body, with a talent for mimicry, parental issues and a violent love for poontang, a treat to watch. Like Sex Wish, Colt has a bit of an Adam Sandler thing going on, here he combines childlike innocence with bursts of anger and overheard dirty talk to truly weird effect, flipping between states with freakish unpredictability and even an odd edge of sympathy, with glasses, geeky looks and a good amount of in out action he rules the screen. Which is not to say that other performers are ineffective, in fact everyone puts in a solid show. Jody Maxwell is all kinds of likable as the nominal heroine of the piece and even provides an whisper of morality, offering at least a bit of resistance at her boyfriend plying Timmy with booze and pot and luring him into a threesome (in a totally spiffing scene of mondo political incorrectness). Then there are cameos for Terri Hall, Annie Sprinkle and CJ Laing as various victims, and Rod Dumont as good natured horndog Charlie, rocking lovable sleaze and a cool moustache. The sex isn't all that exciting (though breasts and bushes are all the sort you just want to smother in), but generally has a fun voyeuristic aspect (Timmy likes to watch!) and there's a smattering of necro shenanigans as well (cause dead chicks don't say no). Production values are dirt poor, meaning that the film does lack a punch in its murders, but Colt's committed performance and the overall demented atmosphere carry the day. The whole thing is underpinned by Milligan styled family values, moments of morality or even sober human interaction can be counted on one hand, tight focus on the characters and (mostly) backwoods setting and regular sex make for a lurid, squirm making intensity that frequently spikes to really rather powerful effect, this one can actually compete quite nicely with any non porn psycho-dramatic shocker of the era, not through any great artistry but sheer madness and purity of intent. The music does a sweet job too, with children chanting nursery rhymes at depraved moments to good effect. Plus, and this is never something to shake a stick at, for all the disturbance Unwilling Lovers is steeped in pure entertainment, not just the necrophile retard aspect (cause nobody doesn't like necrophile retards, right?) but the dialogue, the frank perversion, its all so perfectly late 70's off world evil and crazy it can't help being a delight. By any regular standards I'm not sure this can be qualified as even good, but what can I say, I loved it. 8/10 from me, but its probably perverts only stuff.
