This was excellent! A documentary about the fans of the Rocky Horror Picture Show. This is the first audience participation documentary about the first audience participation film, and shows what the producers of the Rocky Horror Picture Show do not want you to see. There could be more breasts, but all in all, a good time for all.
I went to a screening of this documentary, and I've never been so frightened in all my life. It seems to draw the crowd in and drive them into a frenzy. By the end of the film, I felt like I knew not just the people on-screen, but a little bit about the people around me.
The production is a little choppy, but I think it works in the film's favor. It's like a happy version of Blair Witch.

I went to a preview of `A Regular Fankie Fan' and I had a wonderful time.
This is an audience participation documentary about the fans of `Rocky Horror Picture Show' that perform the movie live, in full make-up and costume, while the audience participates by quoting lines of the film as they happen during this 'acting out of' this unusual experience.
It was very intriguing to be able to know what goes on at a `Rocky Horror' show without actually going there. This documentary follows different casts that perform the film live for audiences while the film is being showed. There are interviews of the different casts and audience members.
Through this documentary I found out there are live pre-shows and many patrons dress up as members of the cast as well. The cast and guests during the evening get together to find out who has been to a showing before and who has not.
During the preview I saw, as with going to a showing of `Rocky', the audience was very verbal. I found through watching this documentary, this is a common occurrence for `Rocky Horror' fans. The guests quote the film and new scripted responses the fans have made up to say during the show. Also, many of the guests have props to use.
This is more than just going out to see a movie. It's more like going to a wild party where you don't know what might happen. This documentary allows you to experience many of the elements that occur for a better understanding of a showing of the `Rocky Horror Picture Show'.
As a `virgin' to this experience, I found this documentary a delight and it made me feel as if I was right there where the action was taking place. I believe this documentary completed a goal because now I wish to go to a late night-live showing of `Rocky'.
I give this documentary a perfect 10. It inspired me to go do something I would other wise not go and do.
Go see this film for a truly inspiring view of the human experience and to be motivated to experience it first hand.
Thank you for shooting this documentary.

I saw the docu-drama Regular Frankie Fan a few weeks ago. It reminded me of something from the Leslie (I am NOT related to Frank) Miller body of work with the exception that this dealt with truth. Truth of what it is like to be a fan of the RHPS. I feel that for under two hours, including credits, I was a part of a world often spoken of but never seen. Once again, director Mabbutt (Hell Bent for Leather, Dixon Mason and the Temple of Doom, Dixon Mason and the Fantabulous Flying Contraption of Professor Huffenagel)captures on film what most film makers can't: True Americana with humor. If you have more fun watching a studio high concept comedy over this, you weren't watching A Regular Frankie Fan my friend. Oh no, you were not! You MUST check out the Japanese language of Time Warp by a band calling itself Red Eye. I have no idea what they are saying, but in my heart I know it's a party and we are all invited, no matter who we are for those two hours.
I haven't seen a film like this before. It was full of things I had never seen. Actually, it was shot on hi-end video, so it was "lensed," not "filmed," but you know what I mean! Chock full of freaks- what more could anyone ask for?
