I remember playing this back in 1997 and being blown-away by the graphics. How far we've come! Technology has spoiled us. Still as playable as ever, Road Rash really does suffer when it comes to the visuals. Even the series has aged better than this, and now I prefer to play those games to this then-remake.
Filled with lots of mid-90s 'tude, funny cut scenes, retro grunge music that has dated surprisingly well, bizarre puppet/digital art of eccentric characters, a pleasing mix of racing and combat, and a hedonistic sense of freedom that I normally associate with Outrun I am easily reminded of why I played the game to death back in the day, using the arrow keys and space bar on my keyboard. The PS version is basically an exact port of the PC game but with stiffer menus and slower loads. If you insist on playing through this then the Win '95 version is a tiny bit superior, the blocky graphics really begin to grate after a while though, and the bike engine does make a horrible din.
Check out the Mega Drive series. A recent attempt at reviving (ripping-off) this concept was made with disastrous results so don't expect this to be a brand that will ever make a true comeback.

- CuriosidadesThe 3DO version was one of the first games to license music from real bands. That was of course only possible since the introduction of CD-ROMs for games. Electronic Arts struck gold when they signed the college band Soundgarden for the game. By the time of the release in 1994, the group released the breakthrough album Superunknown that debuted at number one on the US Billboard charts and yielded two Grammy Award-winning singles.
