Right Here, Right Now

One of the most creative pieces of cinema I've ever seen. Superb performances. The whole film has been shot in just two shots. It's as innovative in execution as it is brilliant in concept. Sachin Sanghvi's background score is phenomenal. It's the best thing in the film. Red Blossom Cherry is a lovely song that finds the delicate balance between being extremely fun and profound at the same time. Watch out for the scene where there's a tiff between the coconut seller and the kid. It's damn funny. I'm glad that the film won three international awards. After all, what goes around, comes around. All right here, right now.

A brilliant concept brought to reel, this short film directed by Anand Gandhi(the man behind "The Ship of Theseus") in his initial days is a gem.It portrays how positive as well as negative energy has a cascading effect on every particle in universe whether it be a human being, a fruit or a bag.

The acting might not be top notch but the idea is very well conceived in each scene and by each character.The background score with two beautifully crafted songs- "Jheeni" and "Red Cherry blossom" add the spice.Brilliantly shot in two long shots,this award winning movie very well establishes the director as a good prospect for Indian cinema.

A beautiful narrative of nuclear chain of events that happens due to the first two actions by the same person. First action which evokes anger in the first person, leading to the spreading of anger and unhappiness across the streets and throughout the day. Second action, which evokes love, encouragement to progress and again spreads viral everywhere with all the positiveness until it saves his own life. Beautifully coordinated and connected screenplay, i feel its better than Vantage point. This is an experimental movie in the Bollywood and setting these new trend for people to follow. Akash Gandhi, would like to see more of these...Takes less than 30mins of your time , Must watch for all.

Anand Gandhi came to fame with the masterpiece 'Ship of Theseus', but his earlier films show how he got there. RHRN is based on a simple, yet perhaps the most important concept of Karma... it has been executed brilliantly. The speed of the film is well matched by the two quirky songs in post-modernist style. The quirkiness runs right till the 'credits' at the end where you find 'coconut' and 'bag' listed as actors :)

Anand Gandhi's amazingly complex work feels like an abbreviated Bollywood musical, told in two separate and incredibly lengthy tracking shots, the type of film-making conceit found in Hitchcock's Rope and Orson Welles' Touch of Evil. One young man (Thomas George) becomes the catalyst in a collision of characters, as George's adventure sets off a chain reaction that begins with his annoyed mom, who transfers her anger to the maid, who quits her job and interacts with another party, and on down the line in a chain reaction of diverse emotions. Each character's thought process is presented in voice-over, some in Hindi, others in Malayalam, Bubbeboilum and numerous distinct dialects, while a soundtrack of songs provides more counterpoint, especially with lyrics such as "How intricately woven is this blanket!" Impossible to describe, but an audacious, intricately choreographed delight to experience. Watch the one vignette involving a bike rider and an old lady, as one kid on the sidelines was so obviously piqued that he walks off the street and gets into the shot!
