Thanh Pho Ngu Gat

This is the 2nd film of Luong Dinh Dung whose debut film "Father and Son" is my favorite. And once again, he makes me surprise with "Drowsy City". I think I need to watch it again, maybe twice or three, four times to fully understand the film's message. Everything in "Drowsy City" is just wonderful (the acting, music, design, cinematography,..everything). And yes, I can make sure that after watching it, each of viewers would have different feeling, but they're all satisfied. I'm kind of good at predicting what will happen next in the film but I failed in predicting "Drowsy City", haha. The development of film's circumstances is unpredictable and you know what, I don't dare to ignore the movie even for a second because everything can changed unexpectedly at anytime. Overall, I love this film and highly recommend to you. Just watch and feel!

This movie may raise the argument among the viewers because of the way it delivers its own message. It is totally different from other movies, even can be a shock to someone. However, after watching the movie, reading, hearing to know how the director makes it and the reasons why he decides to make it and thinking about it, I feel this movie is really something. Something which I can not use words to describe but we will have our own different feeling. Unique, different, strange, unbelievable courage. It is a tough movie to watch. It is a challenge. You don't just see things separately but, you should see the whole picture just like how this film shows a lot of the wide shots from above. Then you will find out the underline message hidden inside. After all, it is just all about humans, about connection, about life among humans who are no longer care about each other. We are lost in our own world. No more love, no more care, no more sympathy. I am impressed by the quote of this movie " We can not realize when we are humane or cruel".

You should watch it right away when the film hit to cinema!!!! "Drowsy City" is definitely an amazing film, I had chance to watch it in Estonia in POFF 2019. I am not a big fan of crime and drama genre so at first, I was quite hesitated to watch it and fortunately it didn't let me down. I love its scenario, design and the cast's performances. OMG, I want to watch it again!!!!

In the movie everything seems to be simple but it doesn'nt. I feel nothing after finish watching it but then I realize I keep thinking about the images, the sounds, the characters many days after that. The main character reminds me of Joker but in a deeper and more silent version.
