Quarteto Fantástico: Primeiros Passos

The movie is set in the 1960s, and I really liked the retro vibe. The visuals, costumes, and music all felt fresh and different from other Marvel movies. Pedro Pascal did a solid job as Reed Richards, and Vanessa Kirby was great as Sue Storm.

The story was okay, nothing too deep. It felt more like an introduction to the characters than a full, exciting story. There wasn't a strong villain presence either-Galactus didn't feel dangerous at all, and Silver Surfer barely had any screen time.

There were a few fun moments and some nice character scenes, but the pacing was off sometimes. Parts of the film felt slow or a bit disconnected. Not much tension or emotion overall.

In short: it's a decent movie to kick off the new Fantastic Four era, but nothing special. I'm curious to see what comes next, but this one didn't blow me away.

"The Fantastic Four: First Steps" is a story about family above all else, where each member of the team is equally important. The movie excels when fleshing out the various bonds between Pedro, Vanessa, Ebon, & Joseph.

Pedro nails Reed's stoicism and dashing brilliance, while Joseph makes Johnny feel ever so valiant. But man, I can't remember the last time I adored two Marvel heroes like Ebon's Ben and Vanessa's Sue. They hold the family together and ground the others when no one else can. Silver Surfer is perfection with this metallic voice and looks really really good. Galactus is awesome in IMAX.

The combination of practical effects and CGI is...you guessed it...Fantastic...say that again! VFX were immaculate. Cosmically and on Earth, Matt Shakman dropped a visual feast. It is stunning, stylish, self-contained, and easy to jump into. I had such a good time with this one. The retrofuturism is so pleasing. The retro '60s aesthetic works on all fronts.

Marvel's first family shines with chemistry & charisma Stan Lee and Jack Kirby would be proud of. The "FF" dazzle from start to finish, Matt Shakman delivers one of Marvel's best. Michael Giacchino's score is triumphant and easily his best work in the MCU. Can't wait to watch it again tomorrow!

There are 2 credit scenes, but you already know, that you'll stay for them. Fantastic!

A breezy self-contained flick which requires little to no homework. Music to casual fans ears, this being the 56th project within the main narrative an all.

No time is wasted introducing these characters again - an origin story at this point in the saga would be kind of arduous. This may rattle some sweaties but it was deftly handled. The chemistry between Pedro Pascal and Vanessa Kirby was lacking but Ebon Moss-Bachrach's performance would even the scales somewhat.

An exciting finale and effects that stand out as some of the best in the multiverse saga. A little more interconnectivity leading up to Doomsday and Phase Six might not be so much of a slog.

I think it's safe to say that in comparison to the recent marvel movies, this one takes a step back and brings back the simpler early marvel days vibe.

Must admit walked in with low expectations and came out hyped and excited for where this movie may take place with marvels next to come movies.

Had doubts on the casting being a diehard fan to the early first two originals but will admit the casting held up to their game in the movie.

The movie was a great standalone movie, didn't dwell and repeat too much on what we already know, went straight to the basics, keeping it simple and easy to follow with the plot. Providing us with little theories we can make with upcoming films also.

Music and effects I would say were pretty good or getting better, marvel is definitely heading towards a better direction.

Feel like we the audience need to lower our expectations a little, that way we will find more enjoyment.

Well good news, after ages and having given up trying "Sue" (Vanessa Kirby) and boffin "Reed" (Pedro Pascal) are going to have a bairn! This is great news for her brother "Johnny" (Joseph Quinn) and the stony fourth member of their gang "Ben" (Egon Moss-Bacharach). The news is greeted enthusiastically by their adoring fans too, but those celebrations are cut short when a mysterious woman descends from what looks like a meteor shower to forewarn them that their planet is doomed. Her (Julia Garner) boss "Galactus" (Ralph Ineson) is on his way, and he is hungry for not just some rare earths, but all of it! Blessed with their array of super-powers, the quartet embark in their warp-capable rocket to meet this chap and he offers them an alternative to global destruction. It's one hell of a sacrifice for the would-be parents though, but with the fate of humanity hanging on their decision - what will they choose? Perhaps they can think of a scientific alternative? There is a slightly retro-look to the production, with their flying car looking like a converted Citroën that belonged in a Jacques Tati film, and there is plenty of inter-galactic adventure with some effective visual effects, a decent degree of menace and it stays sufficiently devoid of sentiment, and the multiverse, until the denouement. Though they do gel well together, none of the acting isn't really anything special, nor is the writing, but "Ben" looks good with his beard and Quinn probably steals the show with his engagingly flaming character and his spray-on white 501s. There are loads of gadgets and gizmos and anyone who has ever had to argue with a child seat and a car might empathise, too. It's an old-fashioned save the world movie that hasn't sold it's soul to the CGI, and I enjoyed it.
