Xiang jian ni

This show was recommended to me by a friend and I am so glad I watched it! I haven't really figured out how to review tv, I normally review books, so I'm sorry if this short review is a bit all over the place or too vague.

The characters were great, you could really tell the difference between Chen Yun Ru and Huang Yu Xuan, her storyline along with everyone else's was interesting. There wasn't a storyline that I found boring or wanted to skip. The writers and director really did an amazing job with this one!

I saw a lot of comment about people being unable to follow the story when they were in the past or future but I think that if you're really paying attention then you can easily see the difference. There's a difference in setting, hairstyles, clothing, even some editing differences, they did a really good job making this as mysterious, interesting, confusing and easy to follow...Which sort of makes sense, just trust me on this.

I do highly recommend everyone give this drama a shot because it is really worth it, in my opinion.

" Someday or one day " was an exceptional drama.

Honestly, most of the drama from Taiwan that I've watched were a bit boring, except from the comedies. So, I was not really looking forward watching this, or even picking it up. Plus, there was a lot of buzz around it, which mostly means that the drama is just popular and not that good. So, for those second thinking watching this because of its popularity, my advise is to give it a try.

The drama combined my favourite genres, melodrama (and boy did it have lots and lots of dark themes, tragedy, drama, pain and angst), school romance (first love, youth, innocence, freshness, sweetness) and mystery (with lots and lots and lots of twists that didn't really tire the viewer). The plot was beautifully presented, with things getting confusing at times, but if you stick to it, they do explain things and, in the end, the conclusion is satisfying and original. So, the story was great, with many leyers and a solid mystery and an intense romance.

The characters were realistic, as well, and they didn't overeacter, which I appreciated a lot. For example, the girl didn't start obsessing and dramatising things, clinging on the boy, even though she had been looking for her boyfriend who looked exactly like him for years, missing him like crazy. On that note, the leading lady was perfect, and she did an amazing job with the two characters. Her 2019 one was actually very likable and entertaining. The comedy moments were much appreciated too. I am actually surprised about how the writers have managed to create such complex storyline and not confuse the viewers ( or at least not too much) This story has friendship, time travel, love, mystery, murder, and covers a lot of hot topics like mental health issues, depression and homophobia.

It might seem confusing and overwhelming but it is not, not one bit, you won't be able to look away from the screen and keep rooting for the mains characters to beat all odds and defeat a fate that seems inevitable.

Very fast pace, drawing and so different from anything else you have seen.

The ending was a bit unsatisfactory for me but I decided to give the highest rating regardless because it was carried out so brilliantly for 13 episodes, it was unfair to rate it lower just because It wasn't my favorite finish.

Watch this, you won't regret it.

Although this drama hasn't finished airing, I feel compelled to write a review to express the delight I have within me. There haven't been any Asian romance dramas that I was particularly interested in over the last few years, or should I say, decades...but this show has me speechless. From the acting to the plot, everything is just so well put together and it really touches you as it brings forth the emotional aspect. This Taiwanese drama sets a whole new standard, raises the bar, and truly deserves international recognition for its accomplishment.

I have just finished watching this show and honestly it shocks me. I rarely watched any romantic tv shows but this one is different. It has the science fiction element in it and the logic is perfect! Every move of the characters are reasonable that I do want to know what happens next. More importantly, besides the time travelling, everything in this show is so real, we can feel it somewhere in our own life. the show also has a somewhat deep dive into the discussion about compassion, humanity which makes the show even better. I would highly recommend it!
