Who Am I Now?

Quite a lovely movie and a treat to watch. Different and engaging storyline. The complicated and tension between lead characters will keep you on the edge if your seat. Very very vivid picture of today's society.

I don't understand. Aren't we done with shameful gays? It's not the 1950s. They acting like it's illegal. You're in Canada!

Also this sexuality discovery for women in their early twenties might have made sense but these guys look like they're pushing forty. Who told them they looked young enough to play college students?

The straight white male is the only one making any sort of sense for a change.

Additional points: the acting is brutal, the violence between characters is ridiculous, toxic entitlement doesn't make you root for the characters I presume you're meant to get behind, the stereotypes are very 2001.

I agree the movie could have been better quality . But the storyline was pretty good . It made you really think about what you went thru when you came out . I understood Erin's confusion because I had gone thru this many many many years ago.. I was in the Army and I met a girl that clicked with me . I noticed she would get jealous when I spoke to guys and girls even though she had a boyfriend. We fought one nite in the bathroom and I was crying when suddenly she grabbed my face and kissed me. WOW , the most intense feeling ever . Right there and then I knew I wanted to be with a woman . When I got out I experienced what Erin went thru . Wanting a woman but fighting against it because of my family and society . The line "You can't *** yourself straight" was probably the most realist thing I ever heard someone say So to me this story line was pretty good !!

I would really love to see a sequel to it . I'd like to see them get together again after they both explored and found themselves .

I loved it !

It's a great story that's very relevant to our current times. It's makes you want to continue the follow the story after the movie ends. Only drawback is actors aren't convincing as 20 something year olds. Once you get past that it's enjoyable. I would to see how the story continues to unfold.

There are several caveats that need to be put into place for this film.

Firstly, It is so micro-budget it may as well have been shot on a camcorder. The cinematography and the sound mixing are very sub-par.

Secondly, The acting isn't great, and it certainly doesn't help that everyone is supposed to be in college but seems at least a decade too old.

Thirdly, This type of narrative with characters so scared of their sexual identity seems archaic. The attitudes are only slightly advanced from 'Desert Hearts' which was made in the 80s and set in the 50s.

The 'Coming Out' story, or more specifically its sub-genre the 'Coming Out To Yourself' story has been done to death in the English Speaking world and we don't necessarily need another one. Having said that, the by-the-numbers approach that this film has is adequate enough.
