Tubby's Typewriter

Johnny Butt visits his friend's office while he is out and admires a new typewriter. When the friend sends a note to that effect, Johnny's wife reads it and gets angry.

No, she is not concerned that Mr. Butts, the star of ten episodes of "The Adventures of Tubby", suffers from mechanophilia. At the time this movie was made, the word "typewriter" referred not only to the machine, but the person who operated it.

This is a rather staid albeit amusing comedy, with some good performances and the jokes a matter of the circumstances than actual jokes or gags. If you wish to see it for yourself, a copy, missing the last few feet of film, has been posted to the BFI site on Youtube.
