The 2021 comedy "Lady of the Manor" actually proved to be more enjoyable and entertaining than I had initially expected it to be.
The storyline told in "Lady of the Manor", as written by Christian Long and Justin Long, was actually rather enjoyable. This was the kind of story that just had a feel-good vibe to it, and it is one that puts the audience in a good mood too. So that was quite good. And it is a storyline that is easy to follow and has something to offer for audiences of all ages.
The movie does have an interesting cast ensemble, with Melanie Lynskey (playing Hannah) and Judy Greer (playing Lady Wadsworth) in the lead roles. The movie also have the likes of Justin Long, Luis Guzmán, Patrick Duffy and Ryan Phillippe on the cast list. And it should be said that the actors and actresses in the movie definitely put on good performances in bringing the character to life on the screen.
"Lady of the Manor" has a good amount of comedy to it, though it is not the type of comedy that will have you keeled over with tears streaking down your cheeks. The comedy was good and well-used to bolster the storyline.
If you enjoy a good old feel-good comedy, then "Lady of the Manor" is definitely well worth a viewing.
My rating of "Lady of the Manor" lands on a six out of ten stars.

They did the best they could with what they had I suppose, but the characters are so flat and 80's stereotyped.
The lead character is so unbelievably unlikable and idiotic. Her profound ignorance, desperation and apathy is painful to watch.
Her love interest, no, not the Dude Bro Douchebag (the answer to "What if a coke spoon were a person?), the Doormat, is pathetically spineless and reminiscent of a bedraggled puppy one finds abandoned in a soggy cardboard box in a Walmart parking lot on a rainy day.
I was looking for a comedy and only found it in the bloopers during the credits.
The whole movie is best summed up by Tanner Wadsworth's last line, which is offensive so I'll not repeat it here.

My wife and I settled in to watch this movie, written by Justin Long and his brother Christian, on Amazon streaming movies. It is clear why this is available so soon on streaming. But after a rocky start it develops into a funny, entertaining farce. No one would term this a "great" movie but if the explicit foul language here and there doesn't bother you then it is a fun romp.
Slacker lady is not a drug dealer, she just makes deliveries after someone else deals. But she isn't even good at that and gets busted when delivering, on bicycle, to the wrong address. But she gets an unexpected opportunity, to work as a guide through a historical home in Savannah (filmed in Florida). To her surprise the real Lady of the manor comes to her as a ghost from the 1800s.
We should have rebuffed this movie, we should have turned it off after about 20 or 25 minutes. But we didn't and laughed often. Just a fluff of an entertaining farce. The outtakes shown as part of the end credits are some of the funniest of the whole movie. A solid "6" of 10.

Lady Of The Manor is a comedy so I expected to laugh when watching it. If I'm honest I did laugh with some scenes, quite a few ones, but the rest of the movie was sometimes a bit mediocre. I don't think Melanie Lynskey was the right person to play this role. There are some good names in the cast but I feel like there was better to do with this plot and cast. All in all the movie is worth a watch, there are funny passages and for that alone it was worth my time but it could have been better.
This movie is really intriguing.
On one hand, it has great performances from seasoned actors like Melanie Lynskey that has great comedic timing since Two and an Half Men, and Justin Long and Judy Greer that are always great.
It also has laugh out loud moments and a very classic and endearing plot.
But on the other hand, the production values are at amateur level. The sound, photography and costumes look like taken from a school production.
The editing lacks pace, and the script is not tight enough and it falters several times.
I have no idea how this movie was produced, but it could have been absolutely great given a few more script revisions, more production values and a much better crew behind the camera.
As is, it is a good time. And if after watching the trailer you have dismissed it as a low budget misfire, I recommend you to give it a chance. The end result is much better than anyone could have expected from the promotional material.

- CuriosidadesDuring the library research scene and a later montage, Hannah ( Melanie Lynskey ) is wearing a dark shirt with a band of stripes across the front in muted colors. It is a licensed Doctor Who (2005) design, inspired by the Thirteenth Doctor, from geek culture fashion company Her Universe.
- Erros de gravaçãoAfter Hannah removes the glass box covering Sherman's hat, the box reappears in reaction shots, and is gone again when the camera goes back to Hannah.
- Cenas durante ou pós-créditosBloopers are shown along with the ending credits.
