The plot is so full of holes that it would make swiss cheese jealous, theres no character development and a clear lack of both research and a basic understanding of crime and law enforcement. The writing comes across as a highschool drama writing assignment and the acting is Q List non-celebrity at it's finest. This movie appears to feature an entire ensemble of actors that have seemingly been rejected from every hemorrhoid cream casting call from the last 10 years. I truly think the lines were read from cue cards. There is no real emotion portrayed despite the extremely sensitive subject matter. It's truly a shame, this had great potential and it was decimated by horrendous writing and acting.
Oof Justin Hunt this is shameful. It seems like this documentary has good reviews probably by the film crew themselves only. There is no story line. It remind me of a 4th grade play. Such an embarrassment to talk about such a sensitive topic in this child-like way. These are professional topics and should be handled by sensitive and respectful people, and Justin did not offer that to this topic. Before you do films on sensitive topics Justin, please get some sensitivity training. You had no right being the face of a film like this. Hope we don't see any more films about sensitive topics from you.
I can't understand why this movie has any good reviews. This would have to be the worst movie I have seen in a long time. The acting was terrible, every single person is robotic and it's like they are reading their lines with no emotion. The cinematography is dreadful and just adds to the movies awfulness . The story line is weak and does not engage you in the story. It's hard to care about any of the characters. The sad thing the concept of the movie is important to tell. The impact of social media and the things that people do to get clicks is heartbreaking. This movie could have been so much better to get the message heard.
The story is so compelling and all too familiar with what is going on in our society. Very few films now-a-days hold up a mirror to real life but this film does just that. It really makes you think, makes you wonder what is right, what is wrong and what is just. What would you do? The grittiness of the film makes you feel like you are in it, living the awful situation the family is going through. It's still amazing how sports and the accolades it brings can make people look the other way when truly unjust and horrible things happen. All for the sake of money and prestige. This is a must see for this generation.
Typical movie. I was rooting for the dad. The wife was not very supportive of her husbands grief of losing he son. Then leaves him when arrested. Thought it would end different, but was surprised. Unfortunately, this sort of thing happens and not just in Hollywood. I don't like cell phones and this movie just reinforces that dislike for cell phones. From watching other films, these actors were good at portraying the character. Great scenery and background music. I see some reviews hating movie, but wasn't bad for an afternoon break. Texas must really love football to protect players. I know it's just a movie, but I was mad.
