I don't usually write reviews, but five minutes into this talkie, I had to research the Director (George Mendeluk) here on IMDb to see if anyone let him direct (or would fund) another picture with him after this was made. Oddly enough, it seems (as of the time I am writing this) that later, Mendeluk got the keys to the car 5 more times, though 3 of the 5 were "TV Movies". This means that apparently there were five other people somewhere that thought this effort was so good that it warranted a follow-up effort.
So let's examine this tragic train wreck of cinematic wonder, shall we?
Good writing can sometimes save a mundane movie from the abyss, but here the writing goes out like "Thelma & Louise", gleefully pushing the whole mess into oblivion. The acting is as predictable and worthy as any ardent troop of twelve-year-old children's theater veterans fresh from their grueling weekend production of Peter Pan. And finally, the production values (aside from the hideously loud crescendos of background music, which mercifully drown out much of the obtuse dialog), still feature special effects worthy of Hanna-Barbera on the tightest of budgets.
One genuinely gets the sense that the ghost of Ed Wood was the zeitgeist behind this reprehensible heap of celluloid, in that it seems every scene was shot once, called a wrap, and then hastily packed up to move on to the next, and it wouldn't surprise me a bit to learn that this whole steaming mess was lashed together over a drug-addled weekend by bingeing frat-boys with a few extra bucks to spare.
That being said, this film does give me a comfortable sense of nostalgia for the days of when "Spanky & Our Gang" (or "The Little Rascals") would enthusiastically shout out "Hey, kids, let's put on a show!" ...and then convert the barn to a theater, collect canned goods for the admittance fee, and proceed to win the war for the Allies through sheer force of will alone...

at first i wasn't quite sure what to make of this made for TV movie. it wasn't that bad actually, although Daryl Hannah seems quite out of place, doesn't seem to fit her character very well, the plot centers around a reporter who climbs aboard a hurricane hunting plane, they all suit up and fly through the eye of the hurricane, our main character has issues with hurricanes as when she was a little girl she lost both of her parents to one. during the film you see bits and pieces of the interview she has with her psychiatrist and you also see "flashback" of the hurricane that killed her parents when she was a child. the stormchasing sequences are very good also,, this is not a bad TV movie, and the plot seems solid enough,, i just think Daryl Hannah was out of place ,, out of her element in this film.
There were a total of two upside items to this film.
The first was that I got a good look at the 2009 Lexus Minivan.
The second was that at some point during the dry heaves I got from watching this 1 hour and 24 minutes of visual Ipecac, the popcorn husk that had been stuck to one of my tonsils became dislodged and I was able to remove it.
I suppose if you were a Huge fan of both Daryl Hannah and chubby chasing you might get some small pleasure from this horrible misuse of celluloid. I can only assume that this was made in a vain attempt by Mrs. Hannah to keep some semblance of her original beauty (let's face it, no one watched SPLASH to see her act) on screen.

The only thing that stinks worse than this movie is roadkill or the contrived and debunked science of global warming that they spout during the movie. The global warming is of course the cause of the hurricanes. The acting is OK i guess, But only OK. The rest of it is pure Bull.... well, I won't say it.
I do not like shows that keep jumping from one time to another. this one is terrible in this regard. It almost makes the move unwatchable.
I have always been a Daryl Hannah fan but I think she should have saved all of us the agony of seeing her in her faded glory and just stayed retired in her "carbon neutral" home. It figures tho, these Hollywood types always have to jump on the bandwagon if there is a new environmental cause.
Don't waste your time with this tripe. I wouldn't feed it to my dog

It is the implausibility of it all!... Everything on that movie is sooooo far-fetched and completely impossible it is litterally ridiculous!!! The actors are not to blame. I feel they were merely earning their pay - while acting in a very, VERY bad & ridiculous, TOTALLY IMPLAUSIBLE story. There cannot be a thrill when you are that busy registering all that is ridiculious in what is being outlived by the characters. Blame the author who was deluded enough to believe any audience could watch that without thinking: "Come on! Seriously?...". I gave a 3 because of the actors' effort! Boy! They must have seriously needed their pay!
