The Institute

What a waste of time. The script must have been written by a 5 year old. Way too much gratuitous sex and nudity. A sort of orgy that seemed out of place and unnecessary. Of course all female nudity and very little male nudity. Heaven forbid we see a man's genitals. If it was supposed to be a horror flick, it failed. The "special effects" were so bad, it looked like amateur hour. It was only creepy. In my opinion the acting was terrible. All the secondary characters were insignificant and were a waste. Jarred Harper is a good actor but was wasted in this movie. The ending was stupid and didn't give the audience any closure. Don't waste your time.

If you watch the trailer before watching the film you can clearly see that this is an ULB (maybe even no-budget) feature. As such you have to grade features like these on a curve. Does it trip up? For sure it does, but it's clear that a majority of the errors are budgetary. Look at their IMDb and you can see this was created by a bunch of first time feature filmmakers and knowing that I've seen A LOT WORSE. I hope these filmmakers get to make more movies.

I thought the actors portraying our protagonists, Daniel and Marie, did a reasonable job. Some have commented that the rest of the characters were not well acted, but I think it was a conscious decision on the part of the filmmakers to have most of the characters appear to be "wrong" in one way or another. The head of "The Institute" appeared somehow divorced from his emotions. I've seen worse ways to spend 90 minutes.

Badly acted, directed and written.

The plot was fairly interesting but the execution was poor due to lack of talent and budget.

Gravitas seem to make these movies with a 50 quid budget and the are perfect for millennials who are scrolling through tik tok whilst not paying attention. Avoid.

Holy Moses! This is one bad movie. The Writer/Director/Star/Everything-man has zero talent and needs to get out of the business.

The writing is horrible. I mean the script is so poor it's on welfare. You won't see such horrible acting even in a Troma movie.

And the directing is so poor you'll be bored out of your mind before 15 minutes go by.

Honestly, I waited this out to see if there was any good nudity. There isn't. The sex scene is as boring as the film. Who's a thunk it?

Oh, and I didn't mention the musical score. It sucks too. The most annoying tracks you'll ever hear. This is just a really bad movie you will want to miss.
