I don't care about two bored rich guys lives who boast about their self grandiose quest. I am interested in the relics. I also agree that the authenticated relics should be shared with all. Was Josh in need of money? I quit watching after 10 minutes. It is sad to see valuable found historical relics be documented by two uneducated and uninteresting and extremely bland guys with no personality talk about interesting and highly sought for treasures that people have searched for centuries. At least Josh made sure in his shows that he had credible, educated scholars to validate. And one reviewer said they wouldn't have them authenticated. Us that true?
So not sure how long it took to film this but the guy with the hat never changes his shirt if he truly is a millionaire you would think he could spring for some new threads.
Lynn Pinknett's appearance on episode 2 of season 2 just destroyed any credibility this show had. Spouting her far-fetched theories about the Black Madonna and her heretical, blasphemous, unsubstantiated views on Jesus as fact...it's laughable. To hear someone spouting off authoritatively about "DaVinci Code"- like fantasies as fact makes the whole thing a sham. A pity, because the factual, historical aspects have been enlightening and enjoyable.
"In the last days, scoffers will come..." Lynn Pinknett's appearance here at least confirms biblical prophecy.

The series is extremely light on authentication. I'm not sure of Josh Gates' relationship with these guys, who are called relic hunters. The provenance of the items in the show is not explained. Some of the relics like coins could have been found by these guys, some of it could have been purchased from local markets or landowners, or were family heirlooms, but I imagine much of it is from the black market. Can you buy a Templar helmet and sword from Sotheby's? I personally have a real problem with rich people owning priceless pieces of history just because they have the money. I believe history belongs to us all, and relics should be in a museum, not in some guy's living room or garage. Edit - after watching a few more episodes, I am thankful that these guys have put in the time and money to track down these Templar relics that have apparently been scattered across the world. The program and the two owners of these artifacts could go a lot farther in the authentication and dating of the various relics. I am thankful that they are showing them to the world. Regardless of your views on private ownership, the series is a worthwhile watch.
Right, we paticipate in the travels of two self-made millionaires on their quest about a mystery of a Knight Templars treasure. Both of them don't seem to know much about history, and I coudn't figure that they cared too much about their lack. I've been to the Wewelsburg and in Tomar and I guess I could give you more historical insights than delivered here. So thanks for the pictures of those venues, but apart from that I was only annoyed.
So it's more like following two unsympathetic guys on a holiday to places they find astonishing. That's pretty boring to watch and there's not much of a value to gain out of it. Indeed, if they would do a tour to their favourite pubs that might be more entertaining ... and maybe even more educational?
