Mean Spirited

There is clearly alot of social commentary in the plot of this film and it isn't hard to see what they are saying during the middle of the film. Honestly, as a a content creator, I really understood what this movie tried to say. And it definitely hurt because it rings so true.

The horror element wasn't really there. It's definitely more of a comedy with some horror elements thrown in there. Even so, the horror is within the message of the movie.

Acting is great. Cinematography is great. Soundtrack I love. If you are in a mood for movies where the cast and their banter is the biggest form of entertainment whilst cultivating the greater point of the film (with a small hint of horror and a big dose of comedy)

You need to watch this.

Mean Spirited is fantastic!! Is it your average plot? No, it's better. It leads you towards a familiar plot point and then takes you on a journey of twists and turns. Mean Spirited gives the perfect blend of comedy, horror, and simply the best group of misfits to guide you through all of it. So many intelligent ways of unraveling a story and letting the audience almost choose what path(character) they want to latch onto. It pits multiple viewpoints against each other, and the way the characters grow and discover is a whole other journey in itself. The fact that the film makers pulled this movie off in the allotted time they were given blows my mind. So very impressed, and inspired by this film and the film makers themselves. Gimme more!!

I watched this film at FrightFest. Went in totally blind, and was really surprised that I loved it so much! The film is way funnier than I was expecting, but there were also some great scares in there as well. It definitely leans more into the comedy, so if you're looking for a really scare movie, this might not be the best fit. The cast all did a great job, but I gotta give a shoutout to Will Martin who plays a goofy character named Dew. He was the heart of the film for me; so funny!

I was also impressed with the visuals. Most of the time when I hear "found footage", I get roll my eyes at the shaky and grainy camerawork, but this movie looks really good for a found footage film! The cinematographer did a great job!

This film was a lot of fun. An interesting look at the idea of "selling out". The horror was a slow burning psychological type rather than a slasher film, which I enjoyed, but could have used more scares.

The acting is great and the use of "found" footage was worked into the story really well through the concept of having content creators as the main characters. This actually felt like it enhanced the cinematography which was already great. Cool visual fx and I would've liked more of them, but that's just me. The music selection was also cool.

This was a great watch and I would recommend that you check it out.

Mean Spirited is housed with Man Childs who try to be successful doing pranks on YouTube. And the main guy holds a grudge for his best friend that left and because Hollywood famous. So, first guy wants to do an expose video about why his friend left him and show everyone what's wrong with said famous friend.

Just on that, this film packs a high annoyance factor. Now add in something supernatural is happen. To annoying Bros with grudges. Wow! Torturous.

So something happened in the past on to the friend who left when the two were making a video prank. And that was the start of all the trouble. Huh. Inspiring.

Nothing new here. Nothing very interesting. It looks decent on camera. Beyond that, I was bored, and I didn't care for any of the characters. So the non-ending doesn't hold much in terms of giving much meaning to this derivative lackluster of a movie.
