Men of West Hollywood

Ive had plenty of fun in WeHo but GOOD LORD this series is a cringefest. All the situations & drama are clearly planned+loosely scripted who will confront whom, and completely predictable what will happen.

It's all a formula: which gay or straight will make a scene at the: -surprise party -dinner

• pool party
• weekend in the mountains
• brunch.

Landon with the dyed hair can't even pretend or improvise ANY of his convos, he's a mess. Clearly he's been told what to do or how to act and he can't even do that. "Aspiring Actor" my butt LOL. He's way in over his head and seems like teh producers wanted to showcase him for some unknown reason.

The "human Ken Doll" Justin...everything about him is a train wreck to watch. But just like a car crash, you can't NOT watch.

The photographer Brennen is a decent likeable guy but pretty clueless.

David Barta is sweet and fun to watch; this was all filmed before he came out and his awkwardness towards the girl who's crushing on him makes so much sense now that he's out. The amount of non-straight things he was willing to do on camera shows you he knew throughout this production he had a secret like many of us who have to grapple with confronting. I'd love to know more or explore that; like the "Coming Out Colton" episodes, I think it'd be a sweet spinoff story.

Murray gives off vibes like he's too good for Sean Cody but is overall well meaning, if overly self absorbed (shocking in Hollywood, I know)

Photographer Darren and his boyfriend Laron are a mess together, but you can tell Darren is having fun stirring the pot and standing back when the pot boils over. He throws some hand grenades in at the right time and then is like "oh wow, you all should calm down" but he's doing that with a cast less than half his age.

Clearly the producers went low budget, but they tried. It's a mess.

Show follows the Housewives format but (if it is possible) 1/10 the "quality" of those shows. Filmed right before COVID. Producers shat the bed on this one. Ends on a cliffhanger they clearly wanted a season 2 to resolve.

I powered thru watching the whole series and was laughing at the predictable fights and drama that was manufactured for this group of trashy self-absorbed Hollywood "beautiful people."

I love trashy TV, and I'm very tolerant of bad acting and fake drama. But this dirty bag takes the cake. It's badly acted, poorly scripted, and just overall cheap. It's hard to say which character is the worst as there is so much competition. Perhaps the fairest thing, is to give it to the entire cast. From the plastic surgery Ken Doll, to the weirdly off-putting Justin Bierber, and the dog psychic; they are all completely awful in their own way.

However don't forget special mention of the horribly saccharine sound track, which veers from the awful to the foul. Let me just say, yuck!!!!!!!!!!!

Hmmm, well this certainly doesn't live up to the calibre of the successful "Real Housewives Of ... " franchise or come anywhere near as classy as the gay "A-List New York" series, but it definitely hits the "car crash" viewing meter spot on.

This is supposedly a fly-on-the-wall look at the lives of the "men" (who are actually nothing more than spoilt, self-entitled, egotistical brats with too much money) of West Hollywood.

The bitchy scenarios seem far too staged (almost amateurishly scripted and acted) and the editing (if you can call it that) is REALLY bad. There are way too many stock standard snippet scenes that get put on repeat far too often and for far too long. It seems like the editing department didn't have enough "real" footage of these narcissists and were padding out each episode with anything to fill the allocated running time.

This WeHo group of misfits are really unlikeable from episode one, and by the last "cliff-hanger" episode you are praying that the end is nigh. But alas, rumour has it there's a second series in the planning ... #eyeroll.

This is definitely something to watch if you have nothing better to do with your time or are holed up in a hospital bed in traction with nowhere else to go.

Have the pain killers handy as they all tend to scream over the top of one another to try and nab more camera time.

Sadly this is just vacuous viewing.

As a former resident of West Hollywood myself I can say that the vacuous pinheads displayed here are hardly the norm. While WeHo does attract a bumper crop of vain, shallow pretty boys that drift from gyms to bars to bedrooms, most of my friends and neighbors were just average 9 to 5s without a spot of Botox between them.
