Bach, the animated series

There are thousands of Bach biographies out there, but this is not the scope of this excellent animated series. The story isn't about Bach and his music, though music is obviously always present, but it focuses on Bach as a person, starting from the moment that he lost both of his parents as a nine year old boy. Especially during the first episodes the drawings are a bit unpolished and the animations are a bit rough and definitely have an amateur feel, but you can sense the author growing with every new scene. Let it be clear that all of this was created by one man only, drawings, animation, music, text and voices... everything! If you love Bach, you're going to love this series which is so well made and which shows us a glimpse of the man behind the genius. If you're not into Bach, you will love this series just the same because it tells the sad story of a boy, later a man, who just happens to be Bach. I highly recommend this!

This series is fantastic. In its simplicity, apart from its historical value and the wonderful music, it is packed with emotions. The episodes always end too quickly and I can never wait to see the next one. I love it!

Wonderful episode! The facts are told with enormous purity and with a big heart. I've studied for eight years on the Hamburg events and on the competition for the organ of the Church of St. Jackob and I've also written a small essay on it. In his story all the most important contents are there with great sincerity. The Hamburg events are Sebastian's profound rereading of both his life and his faith. The great Fugue BWV 542 which surely played in those days is the turning point between the before and after the death of Maria Barbara. Thank you so much for his excellent work!

I'm impressed for the painted images, are incredible (for example Bach's face is very similar at the real composer).

The trama is the true history, it can take you in 1600-1700s.

The cast was perfect studied and the town of eisenech is quite similar.

I know the founder of Series and I can say that he is very good at work and I must say that he has potential along with the rest of the cast.

I am looking forward to each new episode of Peter since episode 1, more than two years ago. I adore every episode, meanwhile 13 times pleasure. I can't wait for to the next episodes. This is a totally different way to explain the Life of this great composer. I highly recommend this likeable work of art for all Bach lovers! Just love it.
