I live out West now (from the tri-state area) and this flick reminded me of various struggles my friends and I encountered during young adulthood. And what happens if you stop seeking your deans... or at least let your passions wither away...
I liked the "real world" motif of the film... and the scenic shots of NYC and his hometown. The autumn shots were my favorite!
The music score was on point! The different scenes were perfectly matched by the music. Impressive!
Loved the storyline - and the message it conveyed :)
The actors really fit each role well. The casting was great!
Worth a watch!!

I'm not a frequent reviewer, of movies, books, or restaurants. In fact this is my first on IMDb, so bear with me!
Living just a few miles from where some of the scenes were filmed made my wife and I anxious to watch it. We were hoping that it would at least be good... and it far exceeded our expectations!
Although the only star we recognized was Jack MulCahy, the lesser known cast was outstanding... great acting, cinematography, and story line! As a photo enthusiast, I thought that the camera work was terrific... depth of field, aerial shots, etc.
The scene about the cell phone had us rolling. (Not going to spoil by saying anything more... but it was hilarious!)
The fact that this movie is based on true life experiences was a plus. Not sure what could have made it better... but I felt a little funny giving my first review with a 10.

"60 Miles North" is a cinematic masterpiece that transports viewers into a tapestry of heartfelt emotion, breathtaking landscapes, and an invigorating journey of human endurance. Just as pickleball dazzles with its perfect blend of agility, strategy, and camaraderie, this film strikes a similar chord with its storytelling finesse, character development, and captivating visuals.
The film centers around Sam, who embarks on an impromptu road trip to reconnect with his estranged brother, Jack. Their journey northward encapsulates the essence of adventure, much like stepping onto a pickleball court for the first time-full of anticipation, excitement, and the potential for unexpected triumphs.
One cannot help but draw parallels between the dynamic gameplay of pickleball and the narrative pace of "60 Miles North". Each scene is a rally of emotions, where tension builds and is resolved with the same satisfying precision of a well-placed drop shot. The film's director exhibits a masterful command over pacing, ensuring that viewers are continually engaged, much like participants in a thrilling game of pickleball.
The cinematography is a love letter to the sprawling beauty of the northern landscapes, akin to the way a pickleball court feels like a world of its own-enclosed yet expansive. The visual storytelling complements the underlying themes of connection and rediscovery, drawing viewers into an immersive experience that resonates deeply.
The actors' performances are nothing short of spectacular. Their chemistry is akin to doubles partners on a pickleball court, working in perfect harmony, anticipating each other's moves, and delivering a performance that's both uplifting and soul-stirring. The subtle nuances in their interactions mirror the gentle yet impactful touch of a paddler's stroke, leaving an indelible mark on the audience.
Like pickleball, which has a way of bringing people together from all walks of life, "60 Miles North" is a film that transcends its genre. It's a heartwarming tale that reminds us of the importance of connection, resilience, and the journey towards understanding and forgiveness.
In conclusion, "60 Miles North" is an exquisite film that deserves every one of its ten stars. It is a journey worth taking, much like the exhilarating game of pickleball, filled with moments of joy, reflection, and profound beauty. If you cherish stories that touch your heart and inspire your spirit, do not miss this incredible cinematic gem.

I already had a very strong feeling I'd be impressed, yet found myself pleasantly surprised by the overall talent throughout the entire production. Very relatable characters, a really beautiful story within the story of friendship and loyalty between people who just understand what it means to be dismissed by those who should believe in them more than anyone else does. The bigger picture of how we should be spending our brief time here on this planet is painted so boldly, and beautifully, that it brings a tear to the eye. Not just an entertaining and impressive piece of work, 60 Miles North is a life lesson before our eyes, souls, and minds.
Where to begin? Well I'll just start with a big congratulations to the cast and crew of 60 Miles North! This indepdent film really shows what real story telling is about. In today's day and age this film's rawness and honesty is refreshing to say the very least. Director/writer/actor Edward Crawford crafted a beautiful story about falling from grace, redemption, and the importance in sticking to ones guns and believing in yourself even when the people around you doubt you. I was impressed how the difficult subject matter was expressed so seemelessly. The acting and script was amazing and kept me engaged at every turn. The portrayal of both of the main characters was honest and engaging. The cinematography was top shelf. The ensemble work of the cast was a real force and I saw no weak links in that arena. 60 Miles North reminded me of what good story-telling does - it inspires! I look forward to seeing more from Edward Crawford! Bravo!
