It's a theme that has been repeated many times - an individual struggling against seeming insurmountable odds to come to the aid of a loved one. In this case, it's a young cell phone repairman needing to raise money to provide a critical operation for his younger sister.
The brother takes a gamble with his small business and what limited resources he has to purchase a large shipment of defective cell phones intending to refurbish them and resell them at a profit. When Chinese law is suddenly changed to outlaw the sale of refurbished products, he goes further out on a limb financially to strike up a deal with the original cell phone manufacturer to repair the cell phones so that they can be sold as new inventory. While the script will be familiar to most, showing how the struggle could play out in Chinese culture made it just interesting enough to stick with it to the end.
The storyline is very predictable and while the actors representing the main characters are generally portrayed realistically, some of the supporting actors tend to overplay their parts lending a slightly amateurish feel at times. Not a great film, but if you like international settings, it could be worth your while.

It's no surprised that this Chinese theme film is nonrealistic. And it's hard to let audiences believe what cured the little sister's illness, especially there is no scene filming about the relationships between the doctor and the patient's family people. It is absolutly lack the real life experience.
But the beauty of the buildings and the hard work of the cleaners formed a very strong contrast. In the film language that could not be clearly stated, the director gave us a real China image.

This is a feel-good escape film to lift your spirits if you're feeling down. It can make you laugh and smile, regardless of your everyday concerns. That is precisely what I need right now. A simple yet beautiful film that inspires us to be optimistic about the opportunities life has to offer. It tells the story of a poor orphan, a self-taught repairman who, after the death of his mother, bears responsibility for his sick younger sister. His only objective was to save enough money for his sister's surgery. The film teaches its audience the value of persistence, camaraderie, and continuous effort. It focuses on the struggle, culture, and the challenges society faces.
The storyline is pretty predictable, we can make a guess that it will be HE with a guaranteed success but the casts actually did a good job telling the story.
I almost knew nothing going into this movie. Didn't even watch the trailer just read a little about the synopsis and damn was I surprised. This movie was a helluva roller coaster of emotions!
This movie is mostly set in 2013 and tells the harrowing story of an orphaned older brother and sister trying to find their way and survive in the bustling cut throat concrete jungle of Shenzhen... One of China's busiest cities.
Not going to lie was not expecting the emotional punch or journey this movie took me thru. I actually cried a couple times and the less I say about that the better. One thing I WILL say tho is this movie had a TON of heart.
The love btwn the characters absolutely shines thru. Some of the situations may seem hard to believe but I've been to China multiple times and know they are ALL very plausible. Def an under appreciated gem and I hope it gets more buzz at is a movie worth watching 🙏
