Only reviewing this to comment on a review below from Shade Grenade. What the f is wrong with you? Did you have a bad childhood or are you simply still a child? Such a damning review with hypercritical tendencies I feel sure you are damaged and need help!
My review is simply, this is a cracking shoe with good comedic references. I mean it's not side splitting stuff but just good clean harmless fun, I will never understand these weird reviews that must somehow make people feel like they are some over paid Hollywood critic.
Just calm down, sit in a darkened room, cry a little and then go out and make some real friends, this life is going to be tough with an attitude like that!

Came across this excellent comedy for the first time tonight & what a gem! In this world of political correctness & never offending anyone, it's an absolute breath of fresh air & the perfect antidote to the aforementioned PC. Super Strong cast, great script & tons of material to work with, I'm surprised their weren't more episodes. Reminiscent of Life on Mars & now, The Power of Parker, this had me laughing all the way through. Its refreshing to be able to laugh at this type of content-giving you permission to have a good giggle at stuff we can no longer dare mention or even think-we've become so boring & controlled in 2025 and its a very troubled world. Well Done all involved..it's a shame it didn't continue as with such good writers & actors, I could have seen a lot of potential with all the characters developing various storylines moving ahead. I give this a 9 as 10 is reserved for Fawlty Towers-another politically incorrect comedy that would never be commissioned now!
Mammoth stubbornly sticks to the values of the 70s and for that he must be applauded. Great comedy and fantastic references - Marathon bar anyone? Let's have some more.
Life on Mars? - pah!

I love the Unexplainers on BBC radio and the podcast so was chuffed to see Mike Bubbins in this and he's a PE teacher again :) Hopefully it will a get a series and we can see more of his story and more of his Capri!
Mammoth looks like a pilot. Creator Mike Bubbins is a former PE Teacher, rugby player and a superfan of the 1970s.
He plays Tony Mammoth, caught in an avalanche in 1979 and thawed out. He is adjusting to life in 2021 where everyone thought he is dead.
Tony is back teaching at his old school. His old friends such as Roger now live in an old people's home. Tony even has a therapist trying to help him adjust to the 21st century.
Tony is a dinosaur or a woolly mammoth. He his in a world of mobile phones and health & safety.
This is basically Life on Mars in reverse. A comedy and not a crime drama. Also Tony is no Neanderthal. He might use Hai Karate aftershave but he comes to the aid of a school kid who cannot afford a sports kit. He makes the rest of the class play topless.
It might work as a series but you do wonder how long can Tony hold off from the benefits of modern life. I mean has no one told him just how much porn he can download on his mobile phone!

- CuriosidadesUnusually, for a small British sitcom, it's theme tune was specially composed by the prolific American musician, composer, arranger and producer, Mike Post, who has long been considered the most successful composer in television history. This came about as Mike Bubbins was writing the show while he interviewed the composer for his weekly '70s-themed show on BBC Radio Wales in the summer of 2021. They remained in contact and Post told Bubbins to get in touch should the show be commissioned.
