Mr. & Mrs. Mahi is a film that positions itself as a family-friendly offering with a story that aims to appeal to a wide range of audiences. A film with an interesting story on paper that fails to translate into a compelling cinematic experience. While the premise promises an engaging blend of sports and relationship drama, the execution leaves much to be desired, resulting in a movie that feels half-hearted and unsatisfying.
One of the film's few saving graces is its cast. Rajkummar Rao delivers a natural and convincing performance. Janhvi Kapoor, though not outstanding, puts in a commendable effort, with her dedication to her role and the sport of cricket evident on screen. Zarina Wahab also manages to shine in her limited screen time. Kumud Mishra and Rajesh Sharma were fine in their roles.
The story, though brimming with potential, suffers from a screenplay riddled with loose ends. The movie becomes predictable, juggling between cricket and jealousy without fully committing to either. However, the cricket sequences lack the necessary thrill and excitement, falling flat and failing to capture the intensity of the sport. Musically, the film falls short of delivering chart-topping hits, but the songs are well-integrated into the narrative.

The movie is tone deaf and regressive in many ways.
The direction was better but script was pathetic.
Impractical... The girl leaves her job as a resident ( doctor) just so she could follow her "dream".
Not one dialogue from this movie was to be remembered after stepping out of the theater.
Suddenly after a small pep talk you just start playing good cricket....?
Jhanvi's mother was not given anything to talk.
Rajkummar's character has a 'famous' brother who gives him crappy Advice to make reels/yt shots to make him famous or rather make his 'coaching' famous.
You just throw a ball at your wife because you need validation from your father and you are angry since she didn't mention you in her interview.
Throughout the movie Rajkumar Rao's character switch to different 'flags' first partial green then blood red shade of red flag and ofcourse in the end the husband that every women want... Yes a new type of ending ( much needed one) .
You are out of form because of your family drama and then again back to form as your husband came in apologizing and asks you to play however you want, as if you were always listening others suggesting you how to play..??
And yes in the end you just hug it out, all the crappy behaviour and selfishness of your husband , so what's bad no.

There's nothing much to say about this movie except that it was fairly decent. There wasn't anything egregious about it, but there also wasn't anything that stood out. It's a pretty cute, pretty enjoyable light-hearted movie that doesn't offend in any big way. The only issue I had, which if not would have made the movie much better, was that you just couldn't really root for the main character. There's just so much to dislike, and while that's of course part of what the movie is really about, it also makes it difficult to want to see him succeed or change for the better. A little more redeeming qualities in the main character would have made the experience much more personal and empathetic. But it's still not too much of a deal breaker. The movie is good enough to help pass the time with some decent entertainment.
Great message. It reinforces the idea that true fulfillment comes from inner happiness, not public recognition. It's deeply emotional and all the actors gave their 100%. I would be surprised if this movie doesn't receive the recognition it deserves. While Indian cinema faces challenges, some creators are determined to deliver their best. This film proves that a good script and talented acting are all you need to produce a quality movie, no need for foreign locations, songs, dances, or other conventional Bollywood elements. The dedication and passion shine through in every scene. It's a must watch if you thing you are putting too much energy to impress others.
The trailer of Mr & Mrs Mahi did it dirty by giving away too much plot. Trailer single handedly ruined the experience for many. If you're deciding whether to watch it, skip the trailer.
There are many negative reviews but if uou watch it without any expectations, you'll find it very captivating and heart warming.
The acting of lead actors is pretty good, although it takes time to accept Jahnvi because she looks so polished (not her fault) that she looks out of place in the beginning portions. But few minutes into the film, her acting and no-make-up look makes her character believable. Rajkumar gave his best, like always. The interaction between him and his mother in the film was one of the highlights.
This is one more good film from Jahnvi after Gunjan Saxena.
