Ammu

The name of the film "Ammu" itself is an attraction. Good storyline! It has succeeded in keeping the viewers fully engaged with its plot twists. The 132 minutes duration passed away like a few minutes. The film promotes women's sense of self-worth, their ability to determine their own choices and their right to influence social change for themselves and others. It will surely attract the womenfolk and the ones who like family-oriented stories. A few scenes where Ammu shares her concern with the police; helping the convict escape from the policy custody; deliberately bringing lunch to the police station when the DSP is present at the station; secretly recording the conversation to trap the Police Inspector Ravi and reaching out to the DSP. These scenes bring happiness and sense of relief to the minds. However, the lighting could have been better or improved in the scenes shot indoor. In short, Ammu is different and is a relief from the masala movies. The director deserves a pat on his shoulder.

One time watch no suspense, you will not Find nothing. I was expecting something different but but nothing came out, if you are watching on Amazon or YouTube you will start skipping the scene as there are meaningless scenes they have added. Also star cast of movie acted well but the story is average. So if you had watched in the cinema I don't know how you spent 2 hours or might have left the movie un the middle. They could use many way to make more interesting but they just shown average that's all. I had many expectations when I did start watching this movie but first half was ok but second.

I have seen many domestic violence - divorce cases. This movie perfectly depicts the thought process of a woman stuck in the quagmire of a troubled marriage. And also of a man who is clouded by male chauvinism. Both the lead Actors delivered terrific performance. Script is written with good amount of research and so are the lyrics. This movie is lot lot better than (the Agenda movie - written carefully to undermine Hindu culture) " The Great Indian kitchen ". Although it could have been better but , I am giving 10 stars. Keep in mind this movie is from a debutant director. Expecting more from him.

One striking difference between other women centric movies and 'Ammu' is - this one is much rooted and the protagonist never speak of ideology (or) is preachful at any place. The character goes through phases and even blames herself, accepts her husband despite odds and many other hard scenes that are so relatable.

You really feel pity what will happen to her when she cries after the criminal leaves. That's the impact of this execution.

The cinematography starts with an unusual dark engagement scene and ends with a brightly lit climax. Bobby Simha's portion really feel good after a long stretch of painful scenes. Do watch!!

No clue why this movie has a less than 7.5 rating . That's the minimum it deserves . Truly great acting by the lead characters Aishwarya Lekshmi and Naveen Chandra . It's amazing how Ms. Aishwarya is choosing the right stories that the world needs and also giving more than her 100% to it . She deserves more praise and accolades for this movie and I hope she continues to pick such stories . As a woman too , it's inspiring to see her not compromise on the movies and stories she picks . Watched her Kumari movie on Netflix as well and that's great as well . She surely became notable after her role in PS1 , however the extent to which she got to demonstrate her acting prowess is way higher in stories such as this . Naveen Chandra as always has done his best and has proved that he is a versatile actor . He is one of the nicest and hardworking actors the film industry is fortunate to have.
