I've only watched 2 episodes. But I like the premise and I hope it gets better. Tilda the lead character is utterly unlikable. This is never a good thing but I but I think they want to make her funny. She is totally unaware of her truly obnoxious personality or she just doesn't care. Some of the background information provided explains why she is the way she is - overbearing distant father who was continuously disappointed in her, super competitive passive-aggressive sister, who takes pleasure in reminding Tilda of her failures, dead, idealized mother, to whom Tilda bears a starting resemblance- it's all there. Tilda is entitled, over-priviledged and ruthless in her vanity, heedless of other people and a Kardashian level attention seeker. Nobody likes her and it's easy to see why.
Ibrahim, on the other hand, it immediately sympathetic. If other reviewers say he's boring, they're not really paying attention because he lives in his head and it is fascinating to watch as he relentlessly strives to figure out the case. He is ingenious abd creative in managing to overcome the restrictions of his life. He is obviously a student of humanity because he immediately picks out that Tilda is someone that he can exploit to his own purposes. And he is single minded about what he wants and where he wants to go, refusing to give his name or revealing that he is fluent in Swedish and English. The glimpses into his past and how he wound up in Sweden are tantalizing - by episode two, we know that he is a former cop brilliant and intuitive as well as logical.
The show manages to reveal the dilemma faced by refugees and the host country without beating you senseless - a flaw in many programs trying to promote the progressive agenda.
As it moves forward, I hope that we learn Ibrahim's story as well as what Tilda did to be fired. I also hope that she gets a comeuppance for exploiting Ibrahim at some point, but he is willing to be exploited as long as he can remain in Sweden and gets to use his considerable talents.

I ll liked the premise; incompetent downbeated prosecuter takes help from a asylumseeker detective.
The problem is that the characters are unlikeable. She is arrogant and selfabsorbed. He is boring.
If she was the comedic relief (like dr Watson) and he was portraid as smart. (Maybe some clever editing explaning why). And some better story. Now they are relying on.what some call mcguffing. (A special event that happens nearby). It just does not make sence. Some people are not behaving like normal.
The actors are fine. The photo is ok. The editing a little bit off. Its hard to hear What some character are saying sometimes.
It could be an interesting tv-show with some more development.

Honestly I feel that this show is unconventional. Because as everyone mentioned above the female lead character Tilda is obnoxious or fool with good for nothing stance and the somalian guy ibrahin is somewhat restraint yet smart policeman running from his past and this collaboration makes things quite interesting. I loved the cinematography and acting of everyone but I am hoping to see a season 2 of it and if it ends up I would like to see more of Tilda and her sister rivalry being in spotlight and so does her colleague Mats antics to find the truth about Tilda and ibrahin. Waiting for it. ...
I am not sure why there are so many low reviews for this really refreshing series and I, for one, would love to see the 2nd season. After watching the first 2 episodes, you might think that the leading female charachter is unlikeable and obnoxious (which she is), but as the series progresses one gets to understand her more and kind of root for her, as well.
As for the leading male character, he's just great and the way the actor portrays him is very, very touching indeed. The whole series is excellent, I binge-watched it in a day and highly recommend it.
I would love to see these two work together on cases, as well as on each other, because this is where the writing is clearly headed to - to their mutual change in behaviour and views, something of a rub-off effect, I would say.
So, 8 stars for this, realistically.

Evaluated as a crime series the Detective from Beledweyne is very light. The time the series spends on social commentary and comedy should however not be ignored. Good acting from at least the two main characters also add to the enjoyiment. A nice modern feel to the script is never wrong either. The storyline moves on at a suitable pace from beginning to end in nice logical fashion.
Together these ingredients come together to a surprisingly enjoyable four hours of watching the six pieces of season one. The end of season one clearly indicate a season two is planned, which I will definitely watch.
