Piercing Wounds

I'm a huge fan of action films. And I'm kind of a martial arts buff. I stumbled across this little gem and watched it without a break, as I do with some movies. But this one had a nice story and character arc that I enjoyed. The fights scenes and techniques were really well done. I like the characters, they were very believable and it was cool to see how the three of them all needed something, and how they all full filled each other in the end. The score was pretty cool for an indie film. And the ending was good. It had a nice little flow of emotions, which, I don't really look for because I mostly like action movies, but in this case, it was well done.

My take away, if you like indie films and good acting, and you don't nit pick every little thing in a movie, this is an enjoyable watch.

If you're watching this expecting big explosions and Hollywood graphics, you're going to be let down. This is not a Hollywood production film. However, Confound Productions has a great writer, producer and only continues to get better. This is, by far, my favorite movie that has come out by them. It has action, romance, and comedy. There was some great acting in it and good chemistry between actors, it really seemed like the main cast clicked well, and it kept me interested the entire time. It's also a 'clean' movie, like all of their films. I don't have an issue with swear words, rated R, or care about religion, but if it's something you're looking for in a movie, this is a good movie for you, as are all of Confound Productions! I'd definitely say they're family friendly. Give it a try. I can't wait for the next one!

I see a lot of hating on these reviews. The film is not that bad. And you could say the wig looks bad, but a lot of wigs look bad in movies, even on Hollywood features, just do a search and you'll be surprised. The acting, I'm sorry but the acting was great. All three of the leads have been other things and have done well. I think the chemistry of the 3 characters were great. I mean, we can nit pick all day on a micro budget indie film sure, but this one isn't that bad. There are a crap ton of films on Tubi Tv that you can watch and are garbage. This film had a plot, and told a great drama story. What more do you want for a low budget indie film. Maybe not worthy of a 10, probably a 7, but I gave it a 9 because people are silly giving this film a 1.

Speaking about the 10 star rating, I understand that we judge low budget indie films differently than we do Hollywood movies, but whoever gave this 10 stars must be either the director, one of the cast, or the director's parents.

The only review I read that was honest gave this movie a 1 star rating. They were the only ones who mentioned the horrible wig and weak fighting. And yes, I agree with them when they said that you should not write, direct, and star in your own movie. It's very self centered when you do. You're putting your ego before the movie.

Put you ego aside and let someone else take the lead. It helps the movie because it lets you focus more on directing and it shows that you care more about the movie than your own fragile ego.

Great action plus great romance equals great movie for date night! Andrew Jacob Brown rights the perfect script here to please both the male and female audience with this sort of love and redemption. Cesar Caolo also steals a few scenes with his performance of Matt, he plays the role with so much conviction. The romance is well done and this movie just brings me back to the great 90's action movies. Andrew Jacob Brown deserves lots of credit for directing and bringing a great balance of drama, action, and romance. He also coordinates the stunts and does a great job. I also felt like the performance of both villains was great.
