    Misleading storyline

Another day and another mediocre Reel One Entertainment TV movie which actually had a potential to be a good drama but instead we got lame comedy and no romance. There are no technical issues, but there is an issue of somewhat fake location. It was indeed shot in Scotland but things get a bit of messy. You see, plot takes place on the Isle of Skye, they even showed stock footage from time to time except it doesn't. The movie was actually shot on probably some 10 different places through Scotland and they just mixed them together. Not bad per se as if you don't live there you won't even know about it, but it's hilarious at the same time as how hard is to shot everything in one town. Doesn't it drive cost up filming in the various different places?

But that's not the problem with the movie. It's the mistaken for special guest trope, very popular trope but hard to properly execute it. I feel sorry for the Scottish part of the cast. Storyline on both here and ROE site is actually misleading - Jen wasn't mistaken for someone else by a dashing Scottish poet. No, no, she was was mistaken by gate agent at the airport, so she consciously decided to lie that she is the famous Liz Harvi which was possible because she never appeared in the public. James MacDuff, the famous Scotish poet didn't even hear of Liz before their encounter at all!

Imagine if that fake storyline was true. Imagine if James was actually admirer of Liz novels, and when he finally met her, except it was imposter Jen, they quickly develop romance for each other as Jen is his big fan (this last part is the only true in the movie). And then imposter was caught up and movie transit to serious drama. But no, instead, for example, there is a dinner scene to show how Jen is a poor cook, and it was supposedly "funny". And that's the whole movie - supposedly funny scene after funny scene.

3* as was actually filmed in Scotland and the Scottish cast was actually Scottish and not Canadians pretending with fake accent. Just watch trailer and save your time, and if you want to watch about Scotland, there are so many videos available for free on so many streaming sites.

    no story

All seems reasonable and nice intentioned. Except the story. First, because Scotland was used as location for so many Hallmark films than you expect something original or pretty new. It is not this case.

Second because the situations are, repeately, pure unrealistic, part forced.

Not less, because the use of cliches is real bad.

The actors are sabotated by poor story and the end is so fake than a beautiful love poetry can save nothing.

But, sure , Emma. Fischer and. Finlay Brain are nice and good intentioned, Barbara Horne and. Lewis Howden are fair options for supporting roles,Janis Ahern offers pretty portrait of literary diva and the. MacDuff residence sounds good.

But , the regret about absence of story remains.

    So bad

The first 10 minutes showed promise....until the scene where she spills tomato soup on her top at home, receives a call from her co-worker friend that she she has to be at the airport in two hours and you see her at said airport wearing the same top, stain hidden by a short sweater. We're expected to believe she didn't have time, even just one minute to change her top for a clean one? Too ridiculous. Plus how many times can one person have stuff spilled on them in one day? First the coffee when someone slams a door on her, then the tomato soup? I found her acting okay and I liked the co-worker guy friend. But that was it. I however stopped watching after about 15 mins.

    What A Horrible Lead Character!

If clueless, stupid people who lie and are complete cowardly frauds are your cup of tea (pardon the pun), then you're going to love this one!

The female protagonist is so horribly unpleasant, I had a hard time watching it. If for the fact that I hate to jump off during even a bad movie, I would've certainly taken the off-ramp on this turd. Despite numerous opportunities to "come clean," she only chooses to double down. Only a really morally bankrupt person does this. We see it on the news all the time.

The problem with "Hollywood," is that they've lost all moral direction, so this kind of thing is considered "charming" or quirky and we're supposed to ignore that a person is without merit and makes for a horrible experience...and also ignore the improbable situations she creates and are inflicted upon us.

Take my advice, give this a miss...you'll thank me!

    To critical

If u want to find something wrong with a movie there's going to be something wrong with all of them so don't watch any and u won't have any gripes or lighten up and enjoy life please. This is a romcom not a true story based on fact it's not historical it's not pretending to be a faith based movie trying to teach ethics and morals get a life u haters out there it's a romcom ok. I like the basic story I agree Jenn should not misrepresented herself but overall she's not a bad person she fell for her favorite poet and realized she needed to come clean I overlook minor issues and problems in movies and enjoy it if I want to waste 1.5 hrs of my time haters of romcom type movies should focus on more pressing issues in our society homelessness poverty inequality abuse neglect hate not running don't low budget romcoms.
